For those of you that still use physical wallets, what do you store in them?
I'd noticed that my physical/traditional wallet was always full of receipts for things that I'd purchased more than cash lol. So I went with one of these "airtag wallets" which essentially has a custom place to hold the airtag. I also keep in here my debit card, a credit card, my Costco card, and another store card inside. And my drivers licence on the back. No more old receipts!

Disappointed to hear some people’s Cards were not working well!

I bought one for myself and my girlfriend the day they launched and haven’t had any issues. Outside of the lack of UWB support, they work as well as our AirTags.

Granted, neither of us sit on our wallets- so it sounds like that may be the Achilles heel of this thing.

One thing to note- the battery is supposed to last up to 2 years and although there is no user replaceable battery, you can send in your dead one and receive a new one at 50% off which isn’t too bad.

The major downside to the Chipolo CARD Spot is that there's no replaceable battery. It's designed to last for up to two years, but when the battery dies, the entire thing needs to be replaced.

I’d rather Apple didn’t stock such a throwaway bit of kit, at least not without offering a plain language explanation of how the raw materials are recycled or offset.

i have no problem to securely put the AirTag inside my wallet. No card version needed.

Without a U1 chip, Find my is not very useful. My airpods constantly give me left behind notifications when they’re in my pocket… and. Lately they tell me someone is using them to track me lol

What do you think people store in them. Same **** we always have: ID, cards, money.

Not everywhere in the world can you just wave your phone around to make everything work, you know.
I was just curious as to what MR members still carry around.

The question I have is will this work in wallets that block RFID? I'm guessing no, but I don't want to spend $30 just to test it.

I guess that means no wallet sized AirTags. I might have to give this thing a go since I misplace my wallet as often as I do my keys. 😬

Not really. Apple bought Beats and everyone thought Apple won't make their own headphones.

I've been using the Pebblebee Card for about a year. Works flawlessly with FindMy. Thinner than Chipolo. Rechargeable and a charge lasts almost a year. Great tech support. Lower price, too: $29.99 versus $35. Not sure why Apple chose the Chipolo product.

Same! I’ve had mine for almost a year and it’s worked as well as one could hope. The battery didn’t quite last me a full year before I had to recharge it (8 months, but I would ping it constantly just to have a laugh with my friends, and for it’s intended purpose), but is still quite acceptable IMO.

I bought one a while ago and kept it in my wallet which lives in my back jeans pocket. My butt kept pressing the pair button and it would constantly unlink it. After about 3 months the battery died. I contacted them asking if there was a way around this and the company basically said it was a design flaw and to keep my wallet in my front pocket. So hard pass for me until they fix this.

Am I the only one that always reads Chipotle instead?

Kind of cool though, wonder if they will also sell it internationally
Is that a Taco in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? :p I hope it works directly with FindMy app. I'd buy one.

Credit cards which are faster then Apple wallet for tapping and trivial to select a card to use for pay. Drivers license since I am not handing my phone to police. Health insurance card, again not handing my phone to a health receptionist. Finally some paper money for misc expenses.

Can't see how I would like to be tracked continuously for any reason what-so-ever.

Now if the tracker was completely dormant (and provable that it was) when not within 10m of my watch, iPhone, iPad, or mac then that might make some sense. Of course, the provable part would never happen because the point is to be able to track the person.
You're missing the point, I think. It's meant to track items such as luggage, keys, etc, rather than a person. This one particularly is for your wallet, so I can see how it would effectively track a person, but that's not the perspective these things were created from.

I LOVE my damn Chipolo. I got one for my wife and son for Christmas also. Been a lifesaver multiple times.

Have had this for past 6-8 months, works beautifully and fits in a card case! No misfires or mistriggers or negative experiences as others had posted. Can’t recommend the chipolo enough!

I got the Chipolo card on launch day and it's worked beautifully. I also got a Eufy tracker for my keychain, also works great. (I have 12 AirTags and they all coexist great too).

Also, since its lacking UWB like Apple's AirTag, you cannot enable left behind notifications...
UWB has nothing to do with the 'left behind' notifications. It has more to do with the precision finding feature. The 'left behind' feature simply just uses the location of your phone to see if it's moving away from the reported location of the tag. (I've got a few AirTags and don't get the notification until I'm half a block away or way on the other side of an airport.)

'Notify When Left Behind' can be turned on for the CARD Spot according to Chipolo's site.

I also use the Pebblebee and it is fantastic! I'd highly recommend.
