Oh please no!! That would SUCK!! Touchscreen desktops are a TERRIBLE IDEA!! They just kill your back! Even touch screen laptops would kill your back! The only things that are good with touchscreen tech are phones, tablets, mp3 players/iPods etc.

listen.. wacom has a great way of doing it. it is a monitor that will be normal when you dont need to touch it and it will be great if you need to draw with it. phisically can be change with ease I love to see that on an iMac..

Hi, everyone. This is King Alekay, I just had to create a different profile. I am truly sorry for everything my older brother said. My brother got on my profile and started posting stuff and got me banned. I never said any of those things and I certainly don't mean them. Again sorry :(

My older brother is a real jerk. And also, I would like to apologize to illian, my brother told me what he said to you in a private message. I am REALLY sorry. He thought he was really funny but I know you guys thought otherwise. I should have put a password on my computer, now I am definitely going to be putting a password on it. The last thing I need is for my brother to log on again and mess things up again and get me banned. I apologize for the cussing, my brother is immature and curses like a sailor. :( I hope you guys can forgive me?

Why should I believe this when only hours ago MacRumors posted this.

Digitimes has been particularly prolific in the past year with their rumors, but have become particularly spotty in their accuracy. While plans could have obviously changed, their previous iPad 3 report claimed a Fall 2011 launch. So, take this new report with some skepticism. That said, an ultra high resolution iPad-sized Retina display could easily be the production bottleneck for Apple's plans.

There will be no MacBook Pro. There will be no MacBook Air. There will be one new, thin, optical drive-less, SSD-based design similar to the current MacBook Air in sizes 11", 13", and 15", called "MacBook". A new outer case material and color is almost guaranteed.

iPad- a new design to fix the faults of the current. Almost all current iPad 2s suffer from light bleed due to uneven distribution of pressure on the LCD caused by the thin design. It will be corrected in some way or other. I don't see a drastic redesign, simply a fix for this, an improvement in cameras, a Retina Display, possible Siri, a gestural home button or elimination of the home button all together, and other internal changes. One thing that may be introduced with iPad 3 and the next iPhone is the removal of the dock connector and the introduction of a new type of charging system.

iPhone- total redesign akin to what we've already seen in the leaks. Improved Siri.

MacPro will be discontinued. Mac Mini stays the same.

iMac slims way down. Looses the optical drive and gains functionalities that we are not talking about and that we haven't even thought of.

Make no mistake- Apple is on a trajectory to eliminate the laptop and steer consumers towards iPads. The focus of the traditional computer will shift almost soley to iMac for some years.

iPod- Goodbye Classic and Shuffle.

A true Apple TV is introduced in the last quarter.

These are all my opinions. I'm ready for the thumbs down, though.

You are right about the touch-desktop, I even find that the iPad is not very comfy when you have to use it for some time. Holding it make your hands tired because the grip is terrible ( i use casing, helps a little)typing on it sucks. It does not sit well on your lap.

It sounds a bit unrealistic that they would redesign ALL the products in one year(?)

I totally agree about the iPad and it does seem unrealistic that they would redesign pretty much all the products in one year.

They might try. But it will fail because a tablet offers little advantage over a laptop. Just because touch devices are "new", cool and so on does not make them better, superior and revolutionary in a way that it will replace the laptop.

The touch interface did bring a revolution to phones because it made them capable of doing "computer things" on a small device in ways that people can live with compared to the pre-iphone age.

People then seem to think that the iPad too is just as much a breakthrough because it is based on the same ideas. It is not...

Some of the issues and limitations of the iPad could be solved if they made it more like OSX. But Apple is in a state of "reverse thinking" since they do the opposite. They try to make their computers interface more like a phone/iPad. Resulted in the worse piece of **** OS up until now...

When will Apple register itself as a charity so that I can write off my 'donations' :D?

Not a new iPhone already! I *just* got a 4S. The rumored "5" does kinda fit with the Air, though. I wonder what that would imply for the iMac and the legendary AppleTelevision?

Same here, but I learned my lesson, if the 5 is spectacular, I will simply break my contract and go for the latest. the 4s goes on ebay, I recoup most of my investment...

Wow... wish I would have seen the posts! Sounds like sparks we're flying! :p

Welcome back. Now go register your brothers email with every porn site out there as payback. :D

I really hope this is true seeing as 2011 has been more of a spec boost year and nothing really spectacular except the iPad 2.

Really?

The 2011 MBP saw a new quad-core CPU, Thunderbolt, ability to support 16GB of memory, ATI Video Cards with a full GB of memory and that is a spec boost?

FAIL.

They really need to make the back of the iPad non-skid. Without a case, it slides too much on your lap when typing. With the case I have it's fine.

They may redesign the iMac by moving the stuff in the bezel and on the back to the stand, with some being put in the base and some in the vertical part. Then, an iMac can be obtained by replacing the stand of a standalone display. The upgrade of iMac can be done simply by replacing the stand.

I examined my 27" Cinema Display and my Mac Mini, the stand containing all the elements of the current iMac less the DVD can be made pretty small, thin, and slim with use of all desktop parts.

I wonder how Apple will change the iMac besides lose the optical? I don't think they will use the touchscreen but it is possible. I really wish the hard drive(s) could be user serviceable on the redesign. I think the better design was the iMac G4 with the lamp shade design but with a flatter base unit. Make it less ugly and it will sell.

I'mma start treating rumors like I treat history, if I don't see it with my own two eyes, rock of salt.

They do need to do something drastic to stop Androids domination of the smartphone industry. I think it will be too little too late though.

Drop the iPod classic, call iPod touch simply iPod, add GPS(!!!), add 128GB option.
Maybe this new iPod could come with even bigger screen than iPhone 5 - differentiating it as more of a dedicated gaming and navigation device?
What about built-in sim-less LTE? Apple could partner (or buy) some global roaming company like www.abroadband.com and integrate temporary/recurring wireless data subscriptions within iTunes store? I know carriers will be pissed, but they must know this is inevitable. They will be just dumb data-pipes. I, for one, even don’t want to know what they are called. I don’t care, I want the best price/performance data in the physical place wherever I am. Carriers should compete for the business of Apple, but the end consumer shouldn’t care at all. This, together with things like iMessage, FaceTime, Skype and other VOIP services could just start the next revolution, again, by Apple (to be followed with rethinking of TV). SMS and regular voice should die ASAP, but I think Apple needs to push this together with Google and Microsoft. If all three of them conspire, carriers will need to adjust to the new reality, that they are just data providers. They will still make good money, but not with the absurd overpriced “services” like today. It’s all data anyway.

iPhone 5 - LTE, NFC, “teardrop” design, sim-less, better battery and slightly bigger “retina” display (with the same 960x640 resolution, I don’t care, if the PPI drops a little), FaceTime HD

iPad 2 - 16GB - $399(?)
iPad 3 - sim-less LTE, with 2048x1533 “retina” display, FaceTime HD, better stereo speakers, add 128GB option.

Apple TV 2 (current one) 720p A4 - $49
Apple TV 3 1080p A5 - $99
support for FaceTime with connected USB camera.
TV subscriptions, App store (I’d love to have Plex and Skype on Apple TV, for example), iTunes in the cloud for movies/TV shows as well - would be awesome and allow most of us to drop cable permanently.

Introduce Apple TV app in the Mac App Store - enabling any Mac to become a true Apple TV, with AirPlay and so on.

Introduce a nice FaceTime HD USB camera for Apple TV and those who don’t have Thunderbolt displays. Maybe even make it wireless with rechargeable battery? Double duty as portable baby monitor etc.?

Merge MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. Simply MacBook: 11”, 13”, 15”, 17”. All without ODD, all Air-like shape, all with FaceTime HD (currently missing in Air), the bigger the screen, the more space for “Pro” guts. Add integrated sim-less LTE and GPS chip. Your iTunes data subscription is shared with all your iCould ID devices...

iMac. Keep 21.5” and 27” screens, but from the outside design the iMac exactly like current Thunderbolt display, drop ODD, keep SD slot.

Drop thre price of 27” Thunderbolt display, Introduce 21.5” Thunderbolt display - to go perfectly with the new iMacs and for those, that simply don’t want/need 27”.

MacMini is fine, just make it even faster and SSD only. :)

I hope they keep Mac Pro. But it could finally become smaller, with cheaper desktop-class processors, ODD only optional. Mac Pro could become the headless Mac so many have been asking for, with higher-end server grade processor options build-to-order to keep true professionals happy.

I wouldn't mind the built-in GPS/LTE in laptops/iPod as long as you don't HAVE to buy a data plan/pay as you go thing.

They do need to do something drastic to stop Androids domination of the smartphone industry. I think it will be too little too late though.

I hope you're joking, as Apple sold 4 million 4S's in opening weekend. Two different approaches but they both seem to be working.
