Day after Labor day in the US? not sure on that.. though I could see the week after if Apple sticks to the Tuesday pattern.

It's the coincidence with the holiday that has me thinking this won't happen this week. The week after would seem more appropriate.

BL.

I'd agree with you except that colleges never used to open until after Labor Day, now they start in August, which seems quite cruel. I still think of the week after Labor Day as a time of easing out of summer laziness. Translation: I could end up sleeping through the keynote!

Nothing! Speed isn't the issue. It's the fact that apps have to reload virtually every time you go back to them after a brief time in another app.

A fine example is podcasts - I can be listening to something in Overcast, pause it, write an email, look at a webpage, then bring up CC to unpause it....nope, app has been flushed, have to reopen it. Equally, some apps, like Alien Blue for example, don't go back to where you were exactly. Relatively minor, but the experience is so much better on an Air 2. Really ought to have have had a ram increase when it went 64bit, I found older 32bit devices slightly better in this regard.

Oh yeah, and writing a forum post, skipping out to answer a text, then returning to find your post is gone really shouldn't happen in such a mature product.

This. I've lost the count of times I've been mad with my iPhone 6 for reloading the web page (typically a long article) I was reading just before popping elsewhere to answer a text or snap a picture. A reload itself wouldn't be such a bad thing if it didn't also lose my reading position while doing that.

I still don't believe that the new iPads will be announced in September. Anyhow I'll be abroad on vacation the week of the announcement and more importantly the pre-order day which I'm guessing will be on the Friday. I hope i have decent internet so that I can get my order in.

I could have written this post. I have had the same issues with my iPhone 6Plus. Oddly enough my husband has the same model I do and has loved his phone and thinks it's the best one Apple has released so far. Go figure.

I'm really liking what I'm reading about the 6s rumors so far. I'd like to get back on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle myself. But there is some exciting new technology on the horizon so I'm also eagerly anticipating the iPhone 7. Though after my experience with my phone I think I am only going to go with the S models from now on.

Plus they need to do something about web surfing. It's pop up ad after pop up ad whether I'm in Safari or Flipboard. It's really freaking annoying when all I want to do is read an article or two.

Apple's annual fall iPhone event will likely be held on Wednesday, September 9, reports BuzzFeed's John Paczkowski, who has provided reliable information on event dates in the past. According to sources that spoke to BuzzFeed, the event will be held during the week of September 7, with September 9 targeted as the most likely date.

The event's focus will be on the next-generation iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, both of which will feature a Force Touch display, an A9 processor, an improved camera system, and a faster LTE chip, among other features. Apple may also unveil new iPads at the event, but the 12.9-inch iPad Pro "seems to be a wildcard," says Paczkowski, meaning it could come at the event or at a later date.

In addition to the iPhone and iPad, Apple is also expected to unveil the next-generation Apple TV. The Apple TV will be a huge update over its predecessor, featuring an updated A8 processor, a full App Store, a touch-based remote control, and Siri integration. It will, of course, include an entirely revamped body as well.

With Apple unveiling the new iPhones on September 9, pre-orders, if available, are likely to kick off on Friday, September 11. The two devices are then likely to officially launch later in the month, perhaps on September 18. iPads and the Apple TV will probably launch during the same time frame.

Apple Brothers & Sisters,
I wonder if the new Apple TV will have Airport Express merged/combined into it. I am hoping!
