confirmed:

next beta of ios 8 will have its clock function removed, so that there won't be a conflict of interest between iphone and iwatch. that way they won't eat into each others profits.

I'm personally starting to think if there is a 5.5 inch iPhone 6......its going to be VERY hard to get one. I'm going to guess the difficulty level will be about the same as it was to get a Gold iPhone 5s when that was first released. Maybe even more difficult.

For those not willing to camp out, how does online ordering work out with apple? Will they start accepting orders as they're hosting the event, or on midnight when the phone is "released"?

Apple to Hold iPhone Event on September 9
Yep!

You mean a grain of salt. If you took it with a grain of skepticism, that would mean you are hardly skeptical at all.

As for the event, I hope it's sooner than later.

hahah, but yeah I was only a little skeptical and looks like it was confirmed :)

I ordered a 5S last year here in the UK, the gold version. As soon as they were announced at 12am. It took around 2 weeks to arrive, which while they said there were limited numbers, I thought 2 weeks was ok. For the iPhone 6 they might allow pre-orders or they may do the same as what they did with the 5S.

thats long past now though, i think september will be the month of the iPhone for a while.

Yeah. It make senses as Apple are becoming better at working on multiple things, and people expect new categories. Say annually they are updating iOS, OS X, Macs, iPhone, iPad, iPod/iTunes/Beats, iWatch, Apple TV - It'll be good to have some space at the start of the year for new products.

Well, for the iPhone 5s they didn't allow orders until the day of launch. Normally, phones prior, we were allowed to order the Friday of the Keynote and those phones were shipped to your house the day of launch. The golds were sold out in probably 2-5 mins. I had a friend order one and by the time it was 12:05am the gold was pushed into October. If i remember correctly, he didn't get his phone until the 2nd week of October. Absolutely brutal. I don't expect the 5.5 to be any different.

Apple threw us a curveball last year for sure. If the 5.5 is real and does launch the day of the 4.7......I expect them to be pretty difficult to get unless you camp a few days for the phone.....a few as in.....3 days plus. You can bank on this.

Welp... guess it's time to sell my 5S. The time to sell is right as MacRumors starts posting rumors about the keynote date, and before Apple announces the keynote date. That is when you can catch the people that clueless that a new iPhone is coming out soon.

A 5.5" for you presumably?

I wonder if the 5S will be offered at all? One can envision the following:

5C free (8 Gb) white only
5SC $99 (16 GB) all colors, perhaps black or space grey replacing pink or yellow.
6 4.7 inch (16 GB) $199
6 5.5 inch (16 GB) $299

Moving to plastic saves money and pushes more expensive newer phones.

Date "confirmed" from a rumour... ? Until the next "confirmation", I won't hold my breath, and nor should anyone. Apple's said nothing, so nothing ain't in no bag, so noone ain't sure... capiche?

Crazy if you think there will be a 5.5 at 299 breaking price point.
399 and 32GB
499 64 GB
599. 128GB.

I'll take bets with anyone on the site on this.

I came back to 5s after Samsung S4 due to its size. So the mega iPhone doesn't excite me at all.

Hopefully they will have other hardware updates that could be interesting.

People told me I’d get used to larger size with a Samsung phone. Samsung’s custom Android kernal was what really drove me away, though I didn’t like the size either. With a larger iPhone, I think getting used to the bigger size is more likely.
