Well, a new iPhone would be nice. My 3GS' battery worked down to 2% today at 6 PM. It originally came off the charger at noon with 100% battery. This is a daily thing... slowly but surely dying.

People stuck on their heads that the iPhone 5 will be announced when there hasn't been any confimation or denial by Apple in the matter. You should wait to see what is actually announced before celebrating, cause imagine the iPhone is not announced, that would be a big turn off for everyone, including me...

Which is more forseeable?

iPhone Launch:

1 week after event in September
1 month after event in October

Two weeks later on the 23rd!

On AT&T all you have to do is pop out the Sim and put it into another device. No idea how Verizon does it though, as they don't have Sim cards.
I apologize if your question has been answered already. I'm assuming the SIM card holds your phone's information that's relevant to your wireless account? Aka, what allows your phone to be unique on the network?

If so, it's not too complicated on Verizon. I can switch between my iPhone and my Incredible on a whim if I want to, all I have to do is go online and tell Verizon that my phone is the Incredible and not my iPhone. That's basically it. Sometimes you might have to call this Verizon number and activate it, but that's basically all there is to it.

My one ex girlfriend used to switch between phones like crazy.

As much as I love my iphone4 it's getting old, maybe not the hardware so much but rather the UI wise. Comparing it with my galaxy s2 iPhone is indeed boring. iOS 5 is what I mostly looking foward to.

Really? People still interested in the classic? That's cool! I hope it gets a huge update just for you!! :D

Ah, the pure joy of travelling with the classic is having a battery life that puts all other ipods to shame along with not having to choose what music / audiobooks to take along.

While it may not be as flashy as the other ipods it is in many situations just unparalleld. So yes I am also hoping for an update...even if it's "just" more storage!

Ack at you guys still rocking iPhone 3G's. I'm surprised the battery isn't **** by now. I hope you guys are all rocking iPhone 5's in a few weeks :D

...and to think, I thought my 3GS was ancient and slow

My phone reception gave out while the battery is still getting 1+ days on a charge.

I did move to an area where the 3g reception was dodgy anyway

Exactly. My Classic lasts me around 2 weeks, using it about 2 hours a day. That and I can change the playing track while leaving my iPod in my pocket.

(No, I don't have a remote headset for my iPhone)

I've also used my Classic as a backup device when I've had to format my PC (no, I've not got myself a Mac yet...).

Long live the Classic!

On another note (and back to the main subject of this thread), can't wait for iP5! 3GS is still going strong but I can feel it creaking on iOS4. Still get a good 24 hrs battery life but I've found it lagging more and more in, and while opening/closing, apps.

But pleeeease God, don't let them announce a week before release "white iPhone 5 will be released 2 weeks later. 1 month later. Later this year. Late 2012. Never."

I don't want to play that evil game again ever. :(

I'm with you on this one buddy. I'll be so happy if both colours are available from launch.

At this rate iPhone 6 will come out before iPhone 5 does.

I love your sense of humour. That just made my day.

Yep, the Sim card has your phone number hooked to it, so as you move it from one phone to another, it transfers your number to the new phone.

"Apple will force you to the cloud like it or not."

I know that you weren't talking to me, but I am not going to be forced by apple to do anything.

I wonder if it will be big enough of an upgrade to make an iPhone 4 owner want to upgrade.

Well... if the last set of rumors are true I would think so. Slightly larger screen, A5 processor, better camera, probably more RAM. I would think just about everything except 4G which is okay by me.

I just hope my upgrade eligibility becomes active soon.... it should given I got my iPhone 4 on day 1.
