You fools. :D

Here is what will happen... Apple will present a new ipod, which will fit the cases that appear everywhere. This new ipod will be able to be used as a wifi phone, which is why you can see mic and loudspeaker on the bottom.
Form factor of the previews and schemes around cannot fit the next phone.

By october, I5 will be shown and will be same form factor as I4, but will include picoproj.
The low budget I5 will be the same as sept. ipod but would include what's necessary to make real calls.

Any chance of an iPad HD announcement?

No.
How is an A class processor going to drive a 2+ megapixel screen?
Apple needs double graphic power/memory and graphic power just to keep the same performance as the Ipad2.

About 10% of PCs have 1080P and now people wants a tablet with higher resolution then almost all PCs.

I wonder if it will be big enough of an upgrade to make an iPhone 4 owner want to upgrade.

1080P recoding
8 megapixel camera
more then double speed processor
9? times faster graphics

Maybe larger screen. Edge to edge display and a minor redesign.

Iphone 6
4G
NFC
12 megapixel

They should just throw one of those 256GB Blade-SSDs in the new iPhone. That would pretty much rock.

Actually, Apple is working on faster NAND Flash for its iOS lineup.
Todays USB2 and "slow" ARM processors are not hindered by the slow NAND Flash. But future iOS products with quod core processors and thunderbolt will need faster Flash then todays.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

Well, that would be a nice birthday present to me, having the media event a day before! Apparently Steve did read my birthday wish list!

wouldn't it suck if they used it to announce the still missing new Mac Pro for all the iPhone 5 peps :D

Anyone wonder why we don't have an "iPhone" event? It's Apple's big money maker and yet it always seems to be tacked on to some other event. An iPod event??? Give me a break. What's wrong with this picture?

Unicorns. Duuuuuuuuuh! :D

It's never officially been called the "iPod Event." It's just the Fall Event.

New MacBook Pros in September? I think so....

That's what I'm wondering. I was just about to buy Macbook Pro 15", but now that this event is so close... I think I can wait a month. I'm hoping they'd refresh Macbook Pro line, hopefully lowering SSD option prices. But I guess this event will be about iCloud, iPods, iPhone 5 and iOS 5. Macbook Pro refresh is probably coming very late 2011 or early 2012.

Wondering if more iPods will get wireless connectivity (wireless + iCloud).

I'm really hoping for a 128GB iPod touch to replace my 80GB white iPod I've had for five years now. If not I may spring for the classic (if it's not discontinued.)

As an iPhone 4 owner since launch, who when buying my iPhone 4 thought "This will do me two years", due to upgrading from an iPhone 3G, the main appeal to me is the superior graphics capabilities.

BUT.

Taking into account that the iPhone 4 hasn't, really, been stretched graphically due to developers ensuring apps work across the majority of devices (excluding iPhone 3G and early 3rd Gen iPod touches), the biggest leap we've seen iPhone 4 versions of games receive is Retina Display enabled visuals. There has not, as yet, been a title only for the iPhone 4 that does something, anything, to take advantage of the extra horsepower.

My worry is that yeah, the iPhone 5 and iPad 2 have these immense graphics capabilities, but will developers fully embrace them in the year ahead and do something to show that there is a significant leap between the generations.

Surely this will incorporate the new iPhone. Apart from the iPod touch, nobody cares about iPods anymore...

60 million iPod touch sold so far. People still care.

*edit*
sorry. Read your statement wrong

That's why he said, "Apart from the iPod touch" ...

I stand corrected :)

(I wish that Apple updated the iPod. Technically they could release a 640 gig iPod classic. Put a wifi on it with Airplay/HDMI and you can carry your video library with you to your friends)

3G + WIFI iPod ?

I am expecting 3G iPod Touch, or even 3G or WIFI iPod Classic !
It's reasonable for Apple to bring iCould to iPods in order to free them from cables.

There will be no new macbook pro.
There is no new intel processor to put into it.

An educated guess is that next revision will be next year with Ivy bride.

Do you think we'll see the Classic finally killed off this year?

I have a feeling Apple want to push iOS in every mobile device possible, and the Nano's redesign last year incorporated a stripped down version of iOS.

I know people who bought a Classic this year, it's still a good option for people who want an "original iPod", i.e: one that just plays music and holds all their songs. However, Apple are ruthless in their business strategy and if they want you to move on, then you move on.

128GB Flash would cost a ton. 600 dollar Touch would not sell well.

BTW. Steve believes iCloud will solve your problems.

Yup, looking to be an iPhone 5 owner soon enough!

But my 3GS, surprisingly, is still in great shape! It hasn't really slowed down... the battery is still going strong, all the buttons still work, and all the speakers/mike are fine! The only complaint is that there's a pixel or two in the middle of the screen that's given out :( and of course a few scratches...

3GS is not to be underestimated my friend! :D

My 3GS is on its last legs. Its silent switch gave up on me just after the warranty ran out, and since then it has had two new screens. What can I say. 2 year contracts are not for me.
