Damn, I just brought a new macbook pro this week on the online apple store, said it would be 3 days shipping. When I got the order details, it said that the estimated dispatch date is 20th October.

Do you think i'll get the new macbook refresh (if it gets released) or should I cancel my order?

First, they forgot an important cat. Second, it is October and that means....

There is nothing to update to, so no don't cancel your order.

I'm really looking forward to (someday) the "Sabertooth" OS X release....
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8B117 Safari/6531.22.7)

"Hello Kity"
King Kong :D

I can see 11 coming out after 10.7 in 2 or 3 years.

Y'all are too funny. :D

Its the normal result:

Powerusers: Upset that once again OSX/Hardware falls short.

Fanboys: Will love it no matter what

Haters: Gona hate

The rest: Will give there opinions about it and be labeled Haters/Fanboys.

Now why did you go and sumerized the whole online culture!

Just get used to it though...I don't take anything on any forum serious enough to be offended. ;)

Well this is a nice surprise! About time Apple refocused on the Mac line up. The future isnt portable hand held devices it will always be laptops and desktops.

Anyways the UI needs some lovin as Windows 7 is way beter looking than OSX these days. Roll on Tuesday. Apple do not disappoint us please.

Awesomeness! 10.7 will be interesting to see and hear about. I have a few requests. But I have a feeling trim support will finally show up.
Might be wrong here but do the latest gen SSD's still need TRIM? Meanwhile idle time garbadge colection is so well optimized that for example anything based on a Sandforce controller seems to work perfect with OSX.

I wonder where this would leave many people that have machines that will only boot 32bit because of an artificial EFI limitation but are 64bit capable machines (like the MacBook Pro 3,1 if I remember correctly.)
And the Al MB. Hope that they would allow some kind of EFI update-similar to flashing the BIOS on a Win PC. Please :apple:

I think the switch to Constellations is a *stellar* idea - ... w/ the exception of Cancer. I could see "Orion" and then maybe a spin on Spotlight called "The Big Dipper." :)

Maybe they could spend a little cash w/ Paramount and name them after Starfleet Captains:

Kirk (with new voice over named Spock)
Picard (new voice over named Data)
Sisco (Odo)
Janeway (Tuvok)
Archer (yada yada)
WARNING-POOR TASTE AHEAD
The first part rocks. "Did you get cancer yet?" "No, I gotta wait a few weeks." Those would be awkward discussions.
END POOR TASTE
The nerd in me loves the Starfleet Captains idea.

I'm sorry man, but due to Breast Cancer awareness this is pretty tacky. My mom passed from Cancer.

It's nice to see some real evidence finally of the prospect of seeing 10.7. I really hope 10.7 brings TRIM support and some improvement to OpenGL amongst other things.

Of course something people will be wondering is the prospect of a new GUI theme, Leopard and Snow leopard's interfaces whilst still aesthetically pleasing and stylish.. didn't seem to pack as much 'energy' as the brushed metal theme in 10.4 for me.

Also the manner in which an upgrade will work, i.e will it be a clean upgrade or will it offer an in place upgrade option like in Snow Leopard. Of course the other big point is the price. The cheap cost of the upgrade to 10.6 will be put in prospective hopefully during the price point of the next release, to show us if it was some manner of preparation for 10.7 which may bring big changes or whether it was just a tactic for selling 10.6. Either way I liked the low price point of Snow Leopard :)

I would cancel, even if it doesn't get re-designed or a spec bump new software like iLife 11 maybe announced and you would get it included.

Even though Im a long-term Windows user. Im still kinda excited about the prospect of a new OS X release, because I love to see how computers and technology are advancing and what new features get released.

Also the eye-candy lover inside me wants to see what it looks like :D

Are they doing another live video feed like a few weeks back?

Puma, Lynx

Puma was the code name for Mac OS 10.1. And a cougar is just another name for a puma.

I was surprised that Lion hasn't been used yet. Maybe Apple was waiting to use Lion for the last version of Mac OS X (maybe Mac OS 11 some day?).

For me Apple has been the only one in the industry that seems to be doing some thinking. I mean they are the ones that seem to be advancing in their field. If Apple did cars, I bet we would be close to a flying car by now.

YESSSSSSSS....
FINALLY.....

It iS NOT AbOuT The iPhone/iPad/iToy :p:p:p

I can't believe it! Apple still cares about Mac!
I'm SOOOOO HAPPY! :D
