Severe lack of spoiler free thread.

Sadly, it seems like septembers live stream won't be repeated, so I need the spoiler-free community -.-

Ah, I see voidness is on the ball as usual with his keynote checker :D

I've wanted a macbook Air ever since it came out. But back then, the specs just weren't good enough for me... (especially for that price!)

And to think only a week ago most people thought the Air would go EOL or at best not be updated until next year...

I'm just so excited X-D

I just walked in the door with this question in mind.

Guess it seems I shan't be waking up for a stream that won't exist.

With 7 hours to go, and no announcement of a live video stream, i decided to write an angry email to Steve Jobs...

Dear Mr Jobs
I am requesting that we get to see us a live video stream of todays 'Back To The Mac'. I am beggin' ya, think of all the childs that want to see this event good sir, Now i know all about all those fancy switchers and vision mixers you got up at your god damn town hall, and i am requesting that you good sir use this equipment, to provide us with a goddamned live video feed good sir. Now good sir, just connect that god damneddd output of the switcher up to a canopus advc box, plug that firewire plug up to yer fancy Mac Pro, or MacBook Pro, and then yah register your ustreams account, and then ya broadcast this beautiful event to 100,000 god damn souls all other the world!. I am a lookin forward to your response good mr Jobs.
God bless america!

Anyone like to add anything before i send it?

i thought C2D would be EOL'd and never been produced forever and ever.

How can apple face the production of a new laptop that contains a component that won't be produced anymore?

Don't get me wrong, i think that C2D are one of the best processor series ever produced by Intel, but it's a question of timing.

ciao!

It's THE same as with the mbp, Intels i3 doesn't have enough umph on the video side and intel doesn't want nvidea to add an onboard chip like they can do with the c2d. And my mbp 13 does have well over 10hours of decent working on one charge. So apple is stuck with the c2d or you'll get serious inferior graphics from intel.

They've got to do a live feed as they are certainly going to be talking about new products that will utilize the new data center. Good time to show it off, eh?

They used Akamai last time, not their own data centre.

The perfect evenings viewing! I can't wait to see what is due. :)

Sadly i doubt we'll be able to watch anything.

ok, but it's a matter of fact that no more C2D at the end of 2010. Maybe apple has some special deal with Intel?

No, no, it's really not a "matter of fact." See, Intel stops "selling" new chips then, but that doesn't mean that they will stop manufacturing them altogether. They have a history of continuing to make at least a portion of an old product line for quite some time, selling them to at least some vendors. As has been pointed out, the Apple TV was using an old Pentium chip until this last revision. Plenty of budget PC's also use older model processors, probably Intel selling off the extra supply. For a model like the MBA that doesn't sell as many as their flagship MBP's, but could benefit from the C2D over the iX series chips, it makes perfect sense for Apple to continue to use them, and Intel will likely have plenty available for them.

Does someone know how long it takes apple to upload the keynote after the keynote is done?

I remember for the September event that the presentation was up on their site until later in the night. I remember checking just before I went to sleep about 10:00-11:00 MST. I remember I also tried to download the podcast at that time but it was not available until the next day.
