I'd like to congratulate Arn and his team on the successful buyout of MacRumors for 34.2 billion. Well done guys!

Please Buy Ireland.

We'd sell it cheap as long as you give us all iPads and get the ECB and Trioka off our backs...

;)

"Stock buy back I predict" as Yoda would say.

They'll announce that the spaceship campuses really a giant arcship, which will:
- transport Jobs's earthly remains to the stars
- set up apple as the first interstellar company.

(me's been reading too much sci-fi)

He can't read this whilst he's sunbathing on his own private island, sipping cocktails out of a scantily clad native woman's naval..

$2 dividend per share in Q4 and buy back shares.

Any business decision that DOESN'T drive stock price is a bad business decision. Remember, Apple's prime objective as a company is to generate value for its shareholders. That is their number 1 priority. Everything else is marketing fluff talk.

That was not Jobs primary objective. Things worked out Ok under his leadership.

That has to be one of the most bone headed assessments I have ever heard. What exactly happened "under Jobs" leadership (sic)? Capital appreciation beyond any of our expectations and growing Apple to the largest capitalization in the world - duh... What are you thinking or smoking????????

So it was a boneheaded assessment was it? What are Apple going to start doing from July?

oh wait.... paying a small token dividend.

I would suggest you learn to actually read a post before spouting off, the same goes for the one person with 5 accounts who suddenly down voted my original post.

I said at the time Job's was right to stop paying a dividend.

No doubt you'll soon see this and do exactly the same.

Samsungs Total Equity is over 200 billion and growing. Apple cannot never buy Samsung. Apples total equity is 100 billion. Do some research.

Their head quarters is scy scraper in the most expensive City in the world. Apples headquarters are in middle of some desert...

Erm. I did which is why I also included shares. Thanks for your insight though; it was very useless.

As for the value of the 2 companies, I assume that you know that Samsung's $200 bill market cap is not comparable to Apple's cash reserves.

Secondly, I'd put good money on the fact that Apple's new HQ is more expensive the the skyscraper Samsung dwell in. Damn, why did I bite?

P.S. plus, my original post was purely tongue in cheek.

Tim was asked about ipad sales. Wouldn't give any numbers but said they had a record weekend.

No surprise there, Apple always breaks records with every product launch.
Oh I know. But there were some stories out there about a possible soft weekend because many stores still have stock and the lines on launch day weren't as big as last year. Of course this iPad was available for pre-order.

Yep, the founder is dead. Now the bean counters proceed to milk the company for all it's worth.

Or perhaps it's actually a "correction" - IE - something the company should have been doing for a long time now and wasn't able to. I don't think you can simplify the reasoning just because you're not happy with the decision for whatever reason.

Steve was a great marketeer and had great creativity/micromanagement. But that didn't make him the worlds best BUSINESS man. He had and Apple still has a great team for that.

The future of Apple will be an interesting one. But I don't think we can call this move "milking" the company for all its (not it's) worth.
