People who trade in phones frequently are fools. I stack all my old phones in my nightstand like a baller.

Absolutely infuriating.

DO NOT TRADE ANYTHING IN TO APPLE.

They're going to destroy it.

Sell it on ebay, give it to a friend, do ANYTHING but trade it in to Apple.

The ONLY reason Apple has a trade-in program at all is to remove used devices from the market to keep them from being reused.

Always remember, recycling is the LAST step in the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle process, not the first.

If we step into a Time Machine
Since Apple stopped selling unlocked iPhones using Apple Card no interest plan I’m out. Not the money just the greed.
You still can buy at 0 apr 24 month unlocked iphones. Just select the carrier as t-mobile, and it will let you select monthly payments with no actual tmobile sim/account.

Once you bring home and unpack, it will be a standard iPhone activation. Only 1 screen will be tied to activating your tmobile which won’t let you go forward. It will ask phone number and ssn digits, but since you have no account, you just click “ok” 3 times with empty fields, on 4th try it will show you an additional button on the bottom to skip sim activation. Congrats, now you have unlocked home screen on a monthly payments.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want what Apple would offer you if they did accept it.

You'll be much better off selling it second hand.
Value is higher on places like eBay but you also are at risk of being scammed. Ask how I know? I've been scammed by buyers there before. I now take less from Apple and just avoid that hassle and risk.

Huh interesting. I wonder if that store was running a pilot program for the increased trade in values or something like that.
It was 480 back in September. If the iphone 2 gens behind, in a hindsight makes sense to jump on September. Luckily my 14 pm went from 650 to 630.

If only Apple had a refurbished section on their official website.
But they accept trade in on even non Apple devices. They can't be just recycling them all. And they must take in for trade in/refund more of their own devices than they can sell on their own site at their pretty high prices for used devices.

Don't think so, I'm not from the US but I was there for a couple of weeks and at first I almost did the trade-in in Chicago but decided to wait until later in my trip so I did it 15 days later in Cleveland and got exactly the same offer.
