Apple to Invest $3.6 Billion in Kia Motors for Apple Car Production

Yeah, Apple has never made anything that is an electric device that requires on industrial design, batteries/charging, AI, computer chips, wireless communications, LIDAR, displays, cameras, audio/speakers...

Even if they did all of that stuff, they’d need to hire the car industry’s top talent (which they are), and work with an experienced and reliable manufacturer that will meet their every specification (check).

Also they would need a LOT of capital and experience entering new hardware industries and turning them on their head (yep).

Honestly there is no reason why Apple cannot pull it off, and anyone doubting it is as silly as those who ever doubted the iPhone.

You're right, they COULD do it, especially going with third-party manufacturing. But I still question why they would want to.

Because with the entire industry transitioning completely to electric and autonomous (basically computers on wheels) within the next 15 years, now is the time for a company like Apple to jump in. And as wall st analysts were recently reporting, if Apple captured 5-10% of the industry, it would become a foundational pillar for Apple's revenue.

KIA = Killed In Action

Hope though the design and quality will be better than KIA which is at best a 2nd tier brand.

Seems like KIA is.... and yes I am not driving a KIA or Hyundai.
