One of these PinkyMacGodess incarnations is clearly wrong - which one could it be?

I can understand your confusion. The discussion is about storage in an iPhone. Storage is measured in 'bytes' (mega, giga, tera, peta) and in reference to the intent of the thread, 'b' or 'B' means bytes when discussing storage. You are the one that threw in the 'mega byte' network on the end of a club to chastise someone. I stand by my statements in the context they were made.

You were still harsh on someone and browbeat them with a fallacious bit of horse poop. I've seen the 'b' both capitalized and not depending on the context. You were, and are wrong.

And as far as the 8g 3GS? It sounds like a good idea but curious timing. Why now and not the time of the original release. Now it looks like an admission of something rather than a smart product move to me. Or is this the 'Wal-Mart effect'?

Only real attraction to the iPhone 3GS was the 32GB of storage. I want more, not less.

I see no other reason to upgrade other than to get the storage. Speed isn't that big a deal for me - I'd rather have lots of storage than a slightly faster CPU.

Slightly faster CPU?

The 3Gs absolutely smokes the 3G. In every possible way.

You've seen it misused, which is unfortunately common and often confusing.

You were, and are wrong.

The international standards bodies agree with me:

"B is the symbol for bytes (as per computer-industry standard IEEE 1541 and IEC 60027), while both bit (as per ISO/IEC 80000) and b (as per IEEE 1541-2002) are used as the symbol for bits."
