laptop which is user friendly

I would like to have a laptop which is user friendly. I want it to have a cd burner, usb connection and the place where you could insert the memory card. I would also want it to have ample memory and a rapid speed. Moreover, I would basically be using it for internet surfing, downloading and uploading, storing my documents for college, keeping my pictures and mp3 songs and the like. What is the best type of laptop for a student?

A low end laptop should stick to the wireless philosophy of the MacBook Air. In fact, I can see this cheaper laptop being just as slim as the Air with 1 usb, 1 display port and 1 MagSafe connector.

If it's a touch slab-like device (a MacBook touch like recent evidence seems to indicate), it probably won't have any of those. It'll have a dock connector and come with a dock with those ports.

Each line of laptops caters to a certain niche. If you need all those ports and an optical disc reader, then there's the MacBook for you.

That said, Apple missed the boat by not adding a CompactFlash card reader on the new MacBook Pro's. That line is a photographer's and videographer's workhorse and a CF slot is the standard in t hose fields. To add to the disappointment, the new Express card slot won't even allow a CF express card since it's too small. :(
