I've been refreshing all night and haven't seen any 64 black in stock anywhere in SoCal, has anyone spotted a black of any size?

I guess there's some shortage of Verizon phones in AZ or something because they are all out of stock still. :(

People get there at like 9am or earlier. Once the shipment arrives or once they know how many are in the shipment, they hand out tickets to people in line who want iPhones. Everyone with a ticket gets one, everyone without a ticket doesn't.

You have to buy it tied to a carrier if you order it via the nighttime online reservation system.

Right, I know that. But I'm wondering if I could reserve it with a new activation, but when I pick it up, ask to buy it device-only without activating the line I signed up for at online reservation.

That's what I'm doing. This morning I was told in the store that I could buy the phone with a new contract online and then they'd cancel it when I picked it up, and charge me the full price.
 
I was able to order the phone at about 10:05 PM CST.. in Chicago but I only received the email saying 'your order is being processed', its about 130AM CST and i havent received an email confirmation about my order is ready to pick up.

Has anyone else experienced the same? In or out of Chicago? Or have you all received 2 emails from Apple today saying your order is ready for pick up?
 
Has anyone had luck for west coast particularly WA state? Been refreshing since 10pm PST and none are showing up as available.
 
Makes sense. If you order online, you don't have an Apple employee next to you trying to upsell you on AppleCare or accessories.

I've never had that happen at an Apple Store for any purchase. When I stood in line on launch day for the iPhone 5, the guy processing my purchase did ask if I wanted to add Apple Care and I said no, and he just said "well, you have 30 days to add it if you change your mind", and left it at that. Which is actually the same experience I had when purchasing other Apple hardware at Apple Stores over the past several years.

I didn't get my pick notice for about 8 hours.

I believe you don't get the email until they are ready for you to come to the store . So you should be expecting the email anytime after they open .

Please keep us posted how that worked out when you go pick it up. I went through the activation (hopefully they didn't really pull my credits just for that) and added 2 phones to my cart, but they are not available for pickup anymore, so I'll try tomorrow. Also not sure how to add more than 1 phone to the cart as I got a warning about only 1 phone with activation per cart but multiple unlocked phones are allowed, which is strange coz we can't buy unlocked phones yet in the U.S.

Also, when you cancel it that way, do you still have to pay for the activation fee?
