Well, are you saying there is no draft bill that is Australia is bringing up against Apple/Big Tech? According to you Australia will let Apple go scot-free? Let us see then, at the end of 2024, who is right.

PS: Can you give the official link again? I cannot go to your previous posts as MR is not letting me see them.
Let me repeat again since the beginning because you haven't read what I said.
ACCC has been pretty good when it comes to these things.
There hasnt been any bill which states Apple has done something wrong.
From your articles you shared its vague mention that ACCC has got some recommendations. There is NO BILL. Because if there was a bill it wouldve been on the official website https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentar...100&ito=1&q=&bs=1&pbh=1&bhor=1&pmb=1&g=1&st=2

So until something concrete comes it what you are saying is just speculation

Nope.

you havent answered the question. Did you read it? Did you find the bill in the parliament?
Have you even read the link yourself? Until now you havent even provided anything just flipping your narrative

Umm…that went to a really weird place, man. 😳
Yeah.
It's a shame you have to point out things to some people who can't understand what they are arguing for in one instance, whilst they would not accept it in another instance.

"If you don't like my rules and my system I made, then make your own with your own rules with your own system."

That's often said when it comes to something THEY want.
But then, when the exact same argument is used for something THEY DON'T agree with, then it's very wrong in their mind all of a sudden.

Funny really that some people can't understand how inconsistent their opinions are. :)

Your reply and the post you are responding to both make my political compass explode. Voters and politicians of both American parties regularly support "European" values like app sideloading and the right to repair.

I've wanted to download and install random IPAs ever since Apple took down that drone strike app. The consumers who would most immediately benefit from this feature in the US are users of deplatformed apps like Gab.ai. I find it really hard to see this as either a communist or a European thing. Unlike the Chinese government, the EU is making it harder for itself(!) to censor things by pushing for app sideloading.

(Unfortunately, our social media laws are another story. :()

Excuse me for being a bit Nationalistic... I just find it a bit offensive that the EU is bullying one of America's (and the worlds I might add) most profitable companies to their will when there's not one EU company (correct me if I'm wrong) that can fill the void if Apple decides to say "the hell with the EU"

Apple should raise prices

Yay! More stuff I don’t care about

Just give me real sideloading god damn it
i just want to be able to take an IPA, hook up my iPhone to my Mac and load that on my iPhone.

What’s the point of this stupid DMA nonsense if I still have to go through another stupid, smaller gatekeeper??
