the Case is for the VERY small percentage of iPhone 4 owners affected or CARES about the antenna issue.

it's a NON-ISSUE for 99% of iPhone 4 owners

I'm sorry, are you telling me that if your phone was unable to place calls when you were holding in your hand that you wouldn't care? Where does your 99% estimate come from?

It's completely ridiculous that apple expects people to shell out $300 and sign a two year contract for a phone that has problems placing calls unless it's wearing a rubber diaper.

PURE TRIPE.

July 16th 2010 in years to come will be seen as the turning point, where Android became the winner anD iOS the loser.

Yeah lets see an android handset sell 3 million units in 3 weeks.

Your statement is as bizarre and detached from reality as your avatar.

Sorry if this has been answered, but what happens if you don't have the receipt for your bumper? I bought it the day after launch at the apple store and didn't get a paper receipt, but instead they emailed me one. I didnt think I would need it anymore, so I deleted the email a week after I got it.

Will I be screwed out of my refund?

I payed with my debit card and could print out a page of my statement with the $31.03 charge, but it doesn't say what I bought. Just that it was a debit charge from the Apple Store.

I'm 99.45% certain that if you walk back into that store once the refund program begins with the email address you gave them, the card you used to pay and your photo ID, they'll hook you up.

free cases

does anyone know what cases will be given to iphone 4 owners besides the bumper????????

Your problem is that you are a lunatic. Your avatar shows Obama made up like the Joker from Batman with the word "socialism". Why would anybody take you seriously?

Actually that should increase his credibility.

I have an Idea to solve the problem that will work with all cell phones from all companies I'm a genius I can't believe noone else thought of this first!!! You see it's simple..... If the cell phone companies put a superconductive chemical in the nations water supplies when we bathe and drink it then it will get into our bodies and make us more conductive to cellular waves and our hands won't cause us to lose signal... Thank you thank you my Nobel prize can be mailed to my p.o. box!!!!!

Then your nerves would short circuit themselves and you would die.

I just want to be clear. Putting any bumper/case on the IP4 will 100% prevent the "death grip" issue?

The 'deathgrip' will likely cause some attenuation while in very low signal areas, even with a case. In areas with decent signal strength, the drop in imperceptible.

The case will, however, prevent the drop in signal which occurs from 'bridging the gap' on the lower left side.

Perhaps chelation, for certain individuals, would be well advised.

Seriously, if rubber doesn't mitigate attenuation due to contact, perhaps there are other variables at play, in this case.

Apparently, a Griffin case (plastic layer in back) is more effective than using a bumper alone - 100% posted by one user:

"I have a case by Griffin, which is kind of like the bumper, but has clear plastic protecting the back as well. And it resolved the reception issue 100%..."

Hopefully, someone will soon post a vid of that solution, as well.

So I guess its fair to say all the cases they are gonna offer are gonna be $30 and under. Is there anything decent in that range? I haven't done much research, and would like to know from you guys that have cases besides the bumper.

I presume you're being sardonic. Not sure how anybody (sane) could read that article as "hate filled". Like me, the writer is an Apple fan, who is quite happy to pay extra for a product that "just works".

The trouble with the iPhone 4 is that it has the looks & price of other Apple products, but lacks the quality.

Definitely if they weren't driven by the need to make the quarterly sales projections, they SHOULD have held off deploying it until the proximity sensor issue was fixed at the very least.
