Seeing as where I am it'll be 7pm and just past nightfall, I think I'll take you up on that! That is, if I can get my damn live stream working...
Anyone know what the minimum required bandwidth is? Last time the stream worked well at first, for about 5 mins. Then upon reconnect would work for 2 minutes then degrade to an audio stream... Is there anyway to allow it to buffer a bit first? Either on the iPhone or Mac?
Oh and for that drinking game, lets make it interesting and add iLife, if not the complete iWeb, iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand. :D

As with the previous event, Apple is using its HTTP Live Streaming technology, limiting the platforms on which the feed will be available.
Shouldn't HTTP Live Streaming work in a beta of VLC too? That would make it work on a lot of platforms, including Windows and Linux...

It supposedly works, but last I checked, VLC doesn't know to refresh the playlist periodically to get new data, so it has to be done manually, which can be tedious, but it works.

I can't go to apple.com after the keynote has aired, it will no doubt be advertising the newly announced products.

What I mean is that last time (the ipod media event last month), apple had a page up where you could view the live stream, then immediately after it was done, that same page had the video of the event. I could come home after my class and just go to that page and watch the video right away.

All I need to know is the direct url to the page so I don't have to go through the apple.com home page. Does anyone know when/if it will be posted?
No one here knows if they will post the video. We don't work at Apple.

That said, you may want to try this page:

http://www.apple.com/apple-events/

as the September event video was posted there.

While I'm happy that it will be streamed live, it should be available to everyone. Mac and PC with up to date software.

store down

looks like store's down so hopefully we'll have a few new products.

How much bandwidth in the lowest quality do you think this will take if I watch it live through Apple?

I'm at college so I have capped bandwidth.

Thanks

That's the beauty of HTTP streaming, it will lower the quality if you have low bandwidth!

Why the hell do I need Snow Leopard to watch this from Apple's side?

WHERE"S THE DISLIKE BUTTON?!?!?
