smart move - this is the phone everyone on the 4-5s have been looking forward to, imo. definitely upgrading from my 5s - can't wait.

Skipping 6S... Force Touch is not enough to upgrade anymore (along with speed bump that I can't feel, and camera upgrades that I can't tell a difference).

Bring on 2x the battery life, water proofing, better material... maybe I'll consider.
So an lifeproof case and a backup battery?

with ios9 (optimized iteration) on a phone with 2gb ram / power-saving mode AND the first megapixel bump since forever - i think you'll 'feel' everything you'd hoped to, since you're currently on a phone you probably shouldn't have upgraded to (considering your specific desires). THIS is the one you wanted. especially since 2x battery life is super-greedy. care to compare any phone on the market of iPhone caliber that lasts a full 2 days?

Always the S cycle fan and will always be. Sure, I can understand the appeal with the "new design" cycle but the S cycle is always the longer lasting and feels like what the nonS cycle should have been..
Finally more RAM, better alluminium, better camera Force Touch etc, always longer iOS compatibility etc

My first iPhone was the 4, the 4S was still the best I ever felt. Looking forward for a 128GB 6S this December baby

Finally 2 gigz of ramz, even though I'm ready for 4 gigz on my iPad.

I am still waiting for Apple to surprise us AGAIN (been counting since iPhone 4).

- 2gb ram: how much difference can I feel using the apps I already use? (10% - 20%? I don't know)
- power savings mode: fine, maybe not delivering 2x the battery, but is power saving mode automatic and will it deliver 50% more battery in actual use?
- megapixel bump: how much better will the picture look on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac? Do I need a magnifying glass to tell the difference?

At least this is a solid guarantee that the 2nd tier countries get the phone a week after the initial launch like the 6, and not over a month after launch like the 5s!

I don't have an Apple watch, that's why I asked. And I seem to remember that right clicking was something stupid you had to do in Windows.

Force Touch is pretty awesome. It's brilliant on the new MacBook Pro's - genuinely tricks your brain into thinking you're clicking a physical button when in fact the trackpad doesn't move at all. And it adds depth to the interface by creating a distinction between a standard tap and a long/hard press.

If it's as well implemented on the iPhone, it'll be a huge upgrade to the iPhone UI. Possibly the biggest advance since the retina display. I can see it being utilised to improve accessibility, too.

When the iPod came out Apple execs were astounded by the unit sales numbers and were saying how this resulted in a new mindset for Apple. These new numbers, 90m units are astounding by even those prior lofty standards.

BTW that's $22.5B wholesale.
With the overall 6S improvements, Apple must be expecting more 'switchers' in addition to upgraders, just like what happened with the screen size increases of the 6 and 6+. Staggering numbers indeed.

If its like the iPad Air 2 (compared to my previous version) I don't notice a faster experience exactly but one that almost never makes me wish it had more. Each application has just worked well. It does make a difference if what you were doing prior needed a bit more ram. The speed comes from the processor, RAM is the difference in the application crashing or continuing.

I may have to skip an iPhone for the first time ever...apple watch and needing to upgrade to a newer iPad kinda puts a 1,500 dent in my apple spending account. A super surprise in the s upgrade could sway me still....

Can't innovate anymore, my arse! rose pink guys.. ROSE PINK!

Actually, force touch is interesting, same with the better Camera. I'll still wait for the 7 when they get ride of that nasty bezel!

But andriod is quite tempting these days, I really like their kids mode.

The things I care most about the iPhone 6S are:

- 32GO entry model
- At least 12mp camera
- Black color model
- 2GB ram

Well that explains a lot. My 1st was the 3GS and the 5 was the best overall upgrade with the 6 coming in a close 2nd. Like the moment the iPhone 5 came out the 4S was markably a worse user experience as it felt like a brick to hold and very slow without LTE. As a yearly upgrader I feel the s upgrades are always worse.

Really? The 5S was a big change with the 64 bit processor. Android manufactures said it was one of the big reasons for the losses they have seen over the past few years. They were forced to develop a 64 bit platform to respond to Apple. Overall it made a more unified processor to match the desktop which makes more room for a single OS in the future.

RAM: the biggest gripe among those wanting more ram (and myself) was the cleared cache for every page/tab you're on in safari. presumably, they won't have to load each time you switch between them now, and this is only for safari - multitasking is coming, so this will enable that eventually. otherwise, you have to look at it like this: 2x the amount of ram we've been used to for years - ALONGSIDE ios9 which is almost entirely for optimization and performance enhancements. it's not quite known yet what it will entail, but i'm guessing we'll be abe to tell there's a big difference.
Power Save: they reported at wwdc that it will add another 3 hours battery life - onto of the extra hour ios9 is supposed to add
MegaPixels: Most often on a phone it doesn't matter, but - and this is fanboyish, i'll admit - when apple improves their camera, it's always a top competitor with the other guys' and their 'huge impressive spec sheet'. so i'm going to guess the difference will be palpable, especially if they also improve the sensor.

all i'm saying is that if you were let down by the 6 at all, the 6s is what you were expecting. but that seems to always be the case, so i never buy the first Big Design Change model for any apple product
