Umm I wonder if force touch will become the same as the 3d fad for tvs.
I prefer you give me more battery capacity, hard drive, etc
It's nothing like the 3D fad for TVs. You haven't used FT on a Macbook or Watch so you don't know what it's like.

Obviously there'll be internal improvements. I'd rather not have a hard drive in my iPhone though ;)

the issue with FT is that 3rd party devs can't include it in their apps without alienating everyone who purchased an iPhone or iPad or iPad Touch before this fall. Hence it'll be a very long time before it's a standard feature in apps or possibly never.

Force touch made sense on the watch, where with such a limited interface space you have to put some functionality behind another interaction method. But on Macs and iOS devices it seems more like adding a layer of convolution -- something Apple is usually pretty good at avoiding.

I see people accidentally force clicking their trackpads all the time now. Pretty frustrating. But maybe it's just growing pains and it'll work out to be better as time goes on.

i see it more for the users who are willing to make an extra click for features and functions that the general public doesn't need. i doubt apple will make core UI elements 'hidden' here.

this makes sense to me, especially since Yosemite (and as far back as mavericks perhaps) has a habit of eliminating buttons but using the 'option' key to toggle them - once force touch becomes more prevalent this seems like an obvious direction for apple: front facing OSs for the grandmas and soccer moms, force touch& 'option/right click' for those who like to explore and find niche shortcuts. there's no need to alienate either beginners or power users as long as the UX stays simple and power features are within reach.

I think you'll be surprised. Give it 6 months and every Android phone will have it's own version of this. Force touch will be a new standard in Smartphone input.

It works on OS X with even fewer users so we'll see.

and each phone will do it completely differently and confuse the hell out of users so developers won't adopt it.

Yes, Apple has always been stingy with hard drives, storage space and and and.

32 GB minimum and for the MBPs 16 GB

Well, the 32GB in the phones vs the 16GB you mention for the MBP's is storage vs RAM, so not really a good comparison. Also, the reason the RAM has been stuck at 16GB is because of the Haswell processor's limit on the amount of RAM they can implement in that platform. Once Skylake is out we should see max RAM start to climb again.

Will there be more customer demand for the 6S than last years iPhone 6?
I know quite a few people who are happy with their iPhone 6 phones and won't be upgrading to the 6S this year.
That leaves people who waited for the end of their contract with their iPhone 5S. Not sure there will be more demand.
The force touch screen does not seem that compelling.

Erm, the step up from the 5s to the 6s will be huge.

I'm upgrading from a 5s and I'm looking forward to a bigger screen, better cameras, force touch, 2GB RAM and a more ergonomic design.

These are all new to me and will be a massive step up, that can't be downplayed.

Force touch is very slow for interacting. And BTW, its a copy from Android's long press. Too sad. But I guess is The New Apple™

Not, you don'T know what the hell your saying.
It's "so slow" they use it on the device were you need the quickest interactions, the watch. Makes sense doesn't it... Hmmm.. Don't bother replying. I don'T want to hear it.

I think so. 2 reasons.

1st is not everyone upgraded to the iPhone 6, a lot of people were still stuck in contracts/next plans.
2nd is China is probably still a few years away from saturation.

I agree tho that the iPhone 6 really spiked sales and it'll be hard for apple to go forward with the iPhone 7.

Why isn't Apple bringing back Space Black for the iPhone? Now that iPhone 6 has curved edges—and not the sharp square edges from which paint rubbed off from and turned silver—there's no excuse!

My next iPhone will be when they introduce OLED/AMOLED/etc screens to the iPhone. I much prefer the Apple ecosystem and ease of use and I love my iPhone 6, but I also rock a Galaxy S6, and nothing beat those kind of screen.

Just make one that is the same size as the 5/5S with the new tech in it (force touch, NFC, camera etc) and I will buy one.

I don't need anything the size of the 6 or the dinner plate 6+. I appreciate many people do, but I fear that those who want the smaller 5S size are going to be left behind.
