What? Immersion mode is just VR.It’s not VR. It’s AR. The only thing remotely VR is the immersion mode which is just as much AR. THANK GOD ITS NOTHING LIKE THE QUEST.

can the Meta Quest show my Mac’s screen wirelessly? can it also show my iMessage threads, do FaceTime and get access to the full Disney+ library?Imagine paying $3500 for this joke that has 10% of the capabilities of a $500 / $1000 Meta Quest 3 / Pro. I can't believe people still fall for Apple bs marketing

Maybe you need to rewatch the presentation. I saw a ton of things driven by AR that I would be interested in. I’ve never seen a single thing from quest that I would be interested in.But the quest is what makes vr exciting to enter new worlds, what’s the point having such good lenses just for a bigger screen in AR not much you can do with that
it almost was until it was limited to running iOS apps instead of Mac appsWell, this has an M2 in it so it's a functional Laptop with an infinite screen.
Cue the devs who will complain about forking over any amount for one of these to test their software. The last developer kit that Apple offered was a Mac mini with an Apple silicon chip inside in 2020, and it was provided to developers to help them transition from Intel to Apple silicon. Apple sold the Mac mini machines for $500, but developers had to return them at the end of the testing program.

Good point! Game developers will either have to get creative with the hand gesture sensing or use third party controller (Meta’s VR controller, for example, is Bluetooth and can probably be paired with the Vision if Apple decides to support it).The keynote did show full virtual environments, so it should be possible. The lack of controllers might limit the types of VR games.
The fact that you don’t need controllers makes it much more of a full VR experience. Even the best controllers are crude middle men for our hands and eye interactions. Apple introduced a whole new platform that could drive the VR industry for the next 10 years. Meta’s VR accessories are good for about 1-2 years and then they’re already outdated as new software demands more immersion.would be cool to connect a controller, but I wanted it to be more like the quest where you get full VR experiences, it seems just like a big screen ar headset
Are you really that excited about running spreadsheets in VR?Sign, but not Mac apps, which means no real work. Again.![]()
I guess that’s what you think work is.Are you really that excited about running spreadsheets in VR?
I don’t have to imagine. Developers are lining up around the block to purchase. You make money by spending money first.Imagine paying $3500 for this joke that has 10% of the capabilities of a $500 / $1000 Meta Quest 3 / Pro. I can't believe people still fall for Apple bs marketing
The issue is that our hand interactions are generally with real physical objects we can touch, which don’t exist in VR. That's why we still use physical keyboards for real productivity (even the keynote highlighted the use of physical keyboards and trackpads with the Vision Pro), physical controllers for serious gaming, steering wheels and other physical controls in cars, etc. Hand gestures are inherently more ambiguous, less precise, have no physical feedback in VR, and thus only get you so far. It's also for a reason the Vision Pro has a digital crown. The fact that you don’t need controllers makes it much more of a full VR experience. Even the best controllers are crude middle men for our hands and eye interactions.
Quest has full 360 VR environments even like rollercoasters I know it’s gimmicky but fun, or like virtual places where your in another world and gaming in full vr not just a bigger display in 2dMaybe you need to rewatch the presentation. I saw a ton of things driven by AR that I would be interested in. I’ve never seen a single thing from quest that I would be interested in.
Because the apps are abot the immersive experience. Just allowing iPad apps would mean it’s just a display. Much of the content they demonstrated worked that way but they also teased with third party development content will be more 3D, virtual and immersive as opposed to flat windows layed over the physical environment.I don’t understand why this thing needs to have all of its own apps developed for it. They missed a huge opportunity here by not having it just run iPad apps, and Mac apps. All those would need is a minor tweak to allow the different user interface.
Nearly everything they showed was familiar 2d apps, displayed in 2d, floating in space.Because the apps are abot the immersive experience. Just allowing iPad apps would mean it’s just a display. Much of the content they demonstrated worked that way but they also teased with third party development content will be more 3D, virtual and immersive as opposed to flat windows layed over the physical environment.
Lmfao you don't even know what it does yet. Cringe 🐑Those imitation VR toys can’t do any of what this device can do though.
It can do way more than that lolcan the Meta Quest show my Mac’s screen wirelessly? can it also show my iMessage threads, do FaceTime and get access to the full Disney+ library?
serious questions!
Google it and see for yourselfas i don't keep up with headset tech... what can the Meta Quest 3 / Pro do above and beyond what Apple's version can?
