Is battery drain fixed in this update?
IPP 12.9 G2 - nope
Battery for me is pretty decent unless I am watching video. Then it's burn baby burn!

I have seen a couple of posts from new XR owners facing signal problems.Speaking of LTE issues, does the XR have the same issues with LTE like the XS or XS Max?
I'm not sure iOS 12.1 will fix LTE issues if it's based on the same chipset as the XS/XSM or if a fix is even possible with software. I'm considering buying a XR for a family member.
Why do you facetime your wife so much?Group FaceTime is back, hoorah!

I use it roughly 4-6 hours daily, to conference my wife.

Why not? You can Facetime your wife/husband and high school aged kids or aunts and uncles.
can't say i would ever use group facetime
Are you newlywed or is this a joke? Even when I was dating my wife and she lived a state away we would only talk for an hour or two each day on the phone on nights and weekends minutes because that's all we could do. FaceTime didn't exist in 2008 and 2009. It was more like a shaky Skype call from her crappy Dell webcam that was prone to dropping her neighbor's WiFi.
Now my wife and I text maybe 10-20 times during the day and talk for maybe 15-30 minutes total in the evening. Not because we aren't good at communicating, but there's just not that much to say at this point and we're pretty organized with our calendars. We're both happy in the relationship. I just can't imagine what I would talk with my wife about for 4-6 hours per day—and on FaceTime no less! Any time I use FT to see my grandparents it chews through my battery too, and I always have the newest iPhone.

Me too! I tried to see if this was a wide spread issue but no luck. Even a brand new 100% cash iPhone XS Max doesn’t work on Verizon.Hoping for LTE fixes as well for XS devices on Verizon!!
Yes... Yes, I would say that you are the ONLY one.Am I the only one who has used FaceTime maybe twice in the past 5 years?
I know about 50 people who dont use it or companies disable it for security reasons.Am I the only one who has used FaceTime maybe twice in the past 5 years?
nope, you are not. I think I used facetime once.Am I the only one who has used FaceTime maybe twice in the past 5 years?
This is going to be great for my family. Lots of family in different parts of the country that don't get to come together very often now will be able to do so because of this.

You two can’t be serious to pretend like you (and nobody in your family) didn’t know about that thing called Skype, which has been around for the last 15 years?
Exactly, I hate having 3 or 4 apps to FaceTime with different platforms. Apple needs to release FaceTime via web browser so all mobile and desktop platforms could play.Am I the only one who has used FaceTime maybe twice in the past 5 years?
This!Hoping they will fix the lack of system complications on the Watch

My family all has iPhones and iPads. They all use FaceTime and have for years. They, especially the parents and grandparents, aren't downloading and learning a new app. Just the reality of the situation.
Oh great NEW emoji's!! Samsung is developing cool new products and Tim Cook is busy creating emoji's.
Apple today announced that it plans to release iOS 12.1 to the public tomorrow following its Brooklyn event that is expected to see the debut of new iPad Pro models and refreshed Macs.
As we've discovered in the iOS 12.1 betas that have been available since September, iOS 12.1 brings several important new features to the iPhone and the iPad.

The update brings support for Group FaceTime, the feature designed to let users chat with up to 32 people at one time. Group FaceTime was present in the iOS 12 beta, but it was removed from the iOS 12 launch to provide Apple with additional time to develop the feature.
Other FaceTime features are included in iOS 12.1 as well, such as automatic detection of active speakers to surface the icon of the person who is speaking, ringless notification to let you join a call without being disruptive, and Messages integration for starting a Group FaceTime call right from the Messages app from a group chat.
iOS 12.1 will also bring more than 70 new emoji characters, such as cold face, woozy face, hot face, red hair, white hair, leg, foot, teddy bear, llama, raccoon, kangaroo, mango, cupcake, bagel, and tons more. A full list of all of the new emoji is available here.
On iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR, iOS 12.1 introduces real-time Depth Control so you can adjust the amount of background blur before a photo is even captured, and support for the digital eSIM, which will allow two SIMs to be used at one time.
iOS 12.1 should be released alongside new updates for tvOS, watchOS, and macOS right around 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, Apple's typical release time for new software updates.

it would be quite difficult to find worse format than gif is .. especially file size related. This ancient format should have died long agoEmojis are dead. It's all about gifs!
My family is on iOS (wife, sister, both parents); and compared to FaceTime, Skype SUCKS for ease of use, stability and call quality. I’m excited about Group FaceTime, talking to my mum and dad without them passing the phone back and forth will be great. You two can’t be serious to pretend like you (and nobody in your family) didn’t know about that thing called Skype, which has been around for the last 15 years?
These comments are worn out already. It’s not like there is a critical path dependency on either software engineering or emojis.Oh great NEW emoji's!! Samsung is developing cool new products and Tim Cook is busy creating emoji's.
