iOS 16 rollout has been a mess and no telling how any one device will react. The entire beta cycle was severely problematic on my 11PM, and the final RC build was no better. My 14PM seems to be fine on 16.0.1 as far as I can tell, and I can’t replicate the camera issue, so to the avoid the risk of this update making something worse than it already is I will likely just wait for 16.1 which is probably only a few weeks away anyway

The problem is that a lot of problems are happening on all kinds of new Apple releases, and this has been happening for years now...

It seems that these products are getting a lot more complex, and Apple just cannot do it on a yearly cycle and release a reliable product. Same thing happens on macOS. Look at iPadOS, they couldnt even do it in time as iOS.

IMO Microsoft has done a better job with Windows updates, having bi-annual feature updates, and more frequent bug fixes, and the OS just evolves over time, while Apple needs a new one every year with huge time crunch because of all the secrecy and stuff, developer & public betas only last a few months, and yet its still broken at every release to various degrees.
Windows 11 is garbage. They built it out to function better on Intel hardware, so anyone who uses AMD is basically gets hit with performance issues.

Random how it affects some and doesn't affect some. My pro max did not exhibit this issue.
Yeah, their bugs can be really weird. Apple has tons of bugs and even they lack consistency!! That's probably why it takes so long to iron them out. Fortunately, iOS 16 works really well on my XR

Like I’ve been saying, if I had an iPhone that supports ios16, I would wait until 16.2 to update. I mean we should’ve learned a thing or two when ios15 were launched. 15.7 is great, no need to rush.
We should have learned when iOS 11 melted everyone’s battery. Like the batteries in my iPhone and iPod touch actually got almost too hot to touch, and within a day both batteries swelled the cases enough to partially pop he glass.

iOS 13.4 for life!

Here are some of my new iPhone Pro Max issues:

Overheating.

Abysmal battery life.

Safari white screen of death.

UI lag.

Not being able to add links to my reading list.

Shouldn’t we be more outraged at the apps that have been silently skimming our clipboards for all these years?

Instead, people are demanding to be put back in the dark regarding the inner workings of their personal device. Ignorance is bliss…

This release of iOS reminds of Catalina. Half-baked at best. This is what "work form home" gets you in the real world.

Is there nothing that Apple can do that you guys wouldn't moan and groan about? This was a bad release. Apple knows it and you all know it. Apple hate is rampant. How 'bout we accept the fact that there will be a fix next week and we can move forward andmaybe we can hope that Apple will learn something from this. If anyone can't accept this, I would have to wonder why they would own an Apple product.
Spoken like a true Apple fan 👍🏻

Honestly though, you're asking for the impossible. Everyone and anyone will always complain.

I'll let it slide, Apple! Last chance!

Apple used to have a two year cycle: Lion & Mountain Lion, Leopard & Snow Leopard, etc, where one year was for features and the next for polish. They really need to go back to it; with all that feature work, when do they have time for polish and bug fixes?

Pastegate.

Not such a big deal, I’d much prefer some third party apps get their s**t together and make their apps work. They’ve only had all summer.

Definitely. We need another round of ios12. Imagine an OS update that improves performance of the older devices.

But the continuing YoY revenue growth probably has blinded any executives and management to keep doing what they've been doing. I mean the buggy release doesn't seem to be stopping the demand for iphones .

Im 32 lmao
That doesn't matter in the current definition. To be a baby boomer by the actual definition you have to be at least 57 years old. The current definition is different. If someone is 20 and you're 32 that makes you a "boomer" if you say, do or think certain things they dislike.

As to this allow paste thing I thought it was good the first time but not every time. There needs to be an always allow permission option just like other permissions. Maybe a setting in Privacy. I paste all the time into messages so I don't want to be asked every time...

And battery please. Battery sucks on iOS 16.
Battery sucks with every OS update...

There really needs to be a sticky post on the front page of MacRumors forums saying this. There's dozens of posts after every iOS update talking about this. It's not the iOS version but rather what's going on after an update that's the cause. It goes away.

Humans always tend to remember the past as better than it actually was. I think the same holds true with the bugs that exist with every new hardware/software launch.

If I had the time (actually, if I cared enough), I’d make a comprehensive list of “major” bugs over the last 10 years with each corresponding product launch.

I’d be willing to bet that this launch is no different in terms of quantity/quality of issues relative to previous years.

Rose-colored glasses and all…

Well, the funny thing is that humans apparently never learn either. 😅 I mean we just went through the buggy iOS 15. Yet people are still flocking and installing a .0 release of iOS 16.

Wiser ones will wait till at least 16.2, and watch how the largest public beta test goes.

What's crazy is that I've had such a disaster with iOS 15 on my iPhone XR that I've ordered an iPhone 14 Pro. So I decided to experiment by installing iOS 16 on my XR.

iOS 16 works like 10 times better on my XR than iOS 15 did! I wouldn't have rushed to order, lol. If iOS 16 works as well on my new phone as it does on my XR, I'll be thrilled.
Works well on my X as well. Couldn't understand the complaints.

FWIW I don't have issue pasting like this. Not even once.
