I don't care, as long as the iPad Mini has Retina. IT'S ALL THAT MATTERS

Same here. The iPad is too large in my opinion, and the screen in the screen on the iPad Mini is a bit outdated, so an iPad Mini with Retina (or a 5" iPhone) is the only thing that will make me fork out my cash on next update.

This gen will be my first iPad purchase. I'm going for the full size one as it's innards are effectively at least a generation ahead (The current iPad is 2 generations ahead of the Mini).

I'm hoping Apple will drop the 16GB (It's 2013 for heaven's sake!) and drop the 32/64/128GB sizes into the current 16/32/64GB price points.

Now I just have to play the waiting game. Hurry up Apple!

I'd prefer a Mini with an A6 or better CPU/GPU, could care less about "retina" display.

Imagine the wait to get a Mini, there's a lot of pent-up demand.

I have the iPad3 and was certainly going to get a retina mini, but using the iPad this morning, I was thinking how it would be if the width was less and little bit less weight, and it keeps the same screen real estate - going to be a tough decision...

Probably late September but it's long over due the current Ipad range is very stale. Other than the Ipad mini Ipad 4 has seen little changes since Ipad 2 design wise.

I think the fact we have seen Ipad mini will take some of the wow factor off what Ipad 5 will offer anyway.

Plus two big Apple products in a short space of time is bad news as not everybody can afford them all in one go.

Not strange at all. It's actually the opposite. It's strange to go to a full size iPad now after using a Mini. Why? Because the Mini is just such a joy to hold in my opinion. It feels good in the hand and it's especially amazing for longer periods of using it. To me it's that sweet spot of the perfect size. Kind of like how I assume most people think 13" is the perfect Macbook size, yes some people want 11 or 15 but 13 I think is the most popular for a reason, it's the sweet spot.

Totally with you on this. The 13" MBP WAS the sweet spot for me. I now have a 15" (moved to 15" in 2011 when the quads came out) because my workload (audio) demands the horsepower, but I do miss the 13" form factor.

The iPad mini for me is the only way to go. I was always curious about the iPad, but never cared much for the size of it. I went into the Apple store, held a full-size iPad, thought... ehhh... looks nice, but, honestly, it's heavy. Then I went over to the mini, picked it up and thought...ooooh! This could work! And I bought one. I most likely will upgrade to the 2nd gen if it has retina and more RAM. Also hoping the form factor is the same. I like my cases.

I love the iPad mini but I think I'll go back to the iPad this generation. I did miss the extra screen space.

I'm torn. I've had the iPad 1, 2 and 3. But I've been using only the Mini since it's release. Now do I go with a retina Mini or a iPad 5????????????

This is going to be one difficult decision.

IF apple is not going to lower their price, it should at least keep the same price and offer 32 gig version...

Then get both and sell the one you end up liking the least :D.

That's an option. :D:D

I've never really had a problem with the screen on the Mini but I thought the "3" was way to heavy. So maybe I'll keep my Mini and just get a 5 since they solved what I considered a problem with the weight.

Now white or black????????????  ;)

I use an iPad 2.

If I upgrade, I'll get the retina iPad Mini with an LTE sim slot and keep the iPad 2 for when I want a larger reading surface.

Not a huge fan of making the iPad 5 like the Mini in terms of bezel, anodization, etc. -- I like the form factor of iPads 2-4. But I suppose I won't be the sales audience for it.

Is Apple going to release both the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 at the same event? Or are they going to do the iPad 5 in October, followed by the iPad Mini 2 in November?

I'm a big as Apple fan as they come, but for the first time I'm actually considering a non-Apple product. The Nexus 7 shows how Apple should (not needs to), step up it's game.

I've sold my iPad mini in anticipation of Apple's next round of iPads. Frankly, I liked it a lot. But I need more power and a better screen. Hopefully the new large iPad will be lighter, or a new retina iPad mini will be the answer.
If not, I'm going to give that Nexus 7 a go.

I'm an Apple fan with numerous Apple products year in and year out.

Android Play store is far better in ease of purchase. Buy Buy Buy!
Flash is able to be played. I have an iPhone and 2 Android Smartphones (company phones). Yeah, iPhone is nice. Android phones are more fun.

That's all I'll say. Nexus 7 2013 IS better than the current iPad Mini. That's undesputable. It has even been mentioned by Apple fans. Test drive both. I have.

PS, I love dropbox.

As for Android stuff, it's pretty good on a Smartphone.

pps, reports have been stating that Apple CEO Cook is on the hotseat for not putting out innovating products. Agreed? I do. Minor changes is a given in electronics field. Everything gets better, faster, lighter, etc. in six months. But Apple's inability to produce something different cosmetically is just saying they're out of ideas. Iphone 4 and 5? looks sooooo similar. Mac Air , iPad main and mini from last year or last last year? See any difference?

Well, if iPad Mimi gets a retina screen, it will have A6+ processor with 1GB of memory.

If iPad mini only gets a speed bump and 1GB of memory, then there is very lattice reason to buy it, at least for me.

I probably skip iPad mini 2 and iPad 5... I will probably go for 2014 models.

No one knows. Well Apple does, but no one else.

Interesting. I have been waiting for this update. I was waiting for either the iPad to get thinner or for the mini to get retina. Looks like i get both and now will have a hard time deciding which device to get.

I bought the original Nexus 7 and have been very disappointed with it. The screen resolution is so bad(even though its better than the mini) Maybe because I have an iPhone5 and retina mbp. I just feel that even though speced higher the nexus 7 just unperformed due to the OS. And as nice as some of the features of android are my screen shouldn't lag when swiping, the menu background shouldn't be pixelated. Its those little things that make an apple device so much better. Yes i dont have all the newest features but my device works almost flawlessly. With the addition of the quick menu in ios7 to access wifi bluetooth and such quicker, one thing i really enjoyed on andriod, i will be truely happy with my phone.

Just curious, other than the high resolution screen(which hopefully Mini gets now), what else is so tempting for you to switch? I understand there's a decent price advantage for the Nexus but do you not find the narrow, long screen awkward? I've only held my co-workers for a minute so admittedly I didn't give it a good go but the shape just didn't feel right. That plus the cheap(I'm maybe the minority, I'm sure lots of people love the grippy back) back of the tablet and the ridiculous bezels just make it not that sexy for me. Mini on the other hand, pick that up and your in tech heaven. Just feels so nice.

I'm an Android phone user, but I have an iPad mini. The reason I went with iOS for a tablet is because I'm a musician. iOS is an amazing music creation platform, while Android is a non-starter when it comes to this.

I love my iPad, because it serves my needs perfectly. However, if I wasn't a musician, I'd probably have gotten a Nexus instead. Price point is a serious plus for me. Admittedly, the iPad is a much better built piece of technology, but for media consumption, light web browsing, and email, there's no reason the Nexus can't fill this bill just fine.

At the end of the day, price point to me means a lot.
