Not even a price cut to $99? Why would anyone buy this at $149 when the new one is $179? The A8 is 6 generations behind, almost 7 at this point!

Even the 3rd Gen Apple TV got a price cut before the 4th Gen was released.

Exactly. And its been this case for a few years now.

First off, why do we need 2 models with a $20 price difference, for a storage option on a product that has no user facing option to manage storage?

Secondly, the older 1080p TV for $30 less. Do we really need 3 products that all essentially do the same thing?

Of all product lines that truly could be simplified...

Yeah an A8 Apple TV HD just seems crazy to be selling these days the $30 to future proof to the A12 and 4K seems like a no brainer.

The new remote takes style cues from the AppleTV 3 remote. I preferred the black look of the ATV 4 remote, but honestly, I don't think I care that much either way. I need 2 more ATVs for the house and was holding off buying them because I suspected new ones were around the corner. I am glad I waited 😁
