Apple to Sell Apple TV HD Bundled With New Siri Remote for $149

You can buy the new remote for $59.

As for new Apple TV 4K, individually, the updates are modest. But as a whole there are enough good things in it:

• New remote
• A12 for 4K 60 fps HDR and better Apple Arcade
• YouTube in HDR and/or 4k 60 fps (current Apple TV 4K is limited to 4K 30 fps SDR)
• HDMI 2.1
• Color Balance, assuming it works well, could be huge
• Thread

Disappointments:

• No Spatial Audio for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max
• Same storage size
• No Find My on the remote, and it still charges via Lightning

How do they announce a new remote at the same time as Airtags, and not put the Airtags functionality in the remote, which is maybe the single most common use case for the Airtags technology.

Exactly. And its been this case for a few years now.

First off, why do we need 2 models with a $20 price difference, for a storage option on a product that has no user facing option to manage storage?

Secondly, the older 1080p TV for $30 less. Do we really need 3 products that all essentially do the same thing?

Of all product lines that truly could be simplified...

I have two of the current 4K version in each storage option. I’ll be damned if I could tell the difference between the two.
