What an odd choice, a person of questionable character and probably not even top 5 young English players in the EPL, I mean if they wanted a young, English football player who was going to make the team for Euro 2016 surely Harry Kane is the better choice. Better player, squeaky clean image and a lock for the Euros, or hell why not jump on the Leicester bandwagon and go with Jamie Vardy.

What?? Oh Dear Apple. Do some research for christ sake.
Apple are out of touch with regional and national specifics.
As soon as Apple steps out of the US it seems they fail left and right.

Two examples:

-Taking forever to port (and that's the key word here) ads and features to other regions (instead of designing them with a more international approach right away or allowing Apple in other countries to assign more workforce to make ads and features that make more sense there)
-Services... need I say more?

A company that really gets how to adapt to regional and national level: Google!

I may not love Google to full extent, but if there is one thing they understand it's to come TO THE PEOPLE instead of Apple's approach of trying to be so bland that it fits roughly anywhere as long as there's a dub/...

Fortunately, I live in the US so your "Football" essentially doesn't exist for me. <dons flame retardant virtual suit and prepares for attacks>
It does if you don't live under a rock. It's the fastest growing sport in the USA , covered by all major media, and I get more coverage of the premiere league here than I did back in the uk.

Also MLS quality is drastically improving, and let's not forget even the fair weather fans who come out for the World Cup and pretend they know what they're talking about have actually stuck around this off term

The sport not only exists here, but it's bigger than ever and with American owners there are growing team affiliations. Red Sox fans are Liverpool fans. Nycfc fans are Manchester city fans. Etc.
'Those who don't accept and embrace proper football (you know the kind played with feet, not throwball ) are going to be missing out on a very exciting time where the USA begins to catch up to the rest of the world with the beautiful game.

give the euros a shot this summer. Just choose any team for any reason, you like their kit, your great great grandparent was from there...you've heard of one of their players, Any reason at all, choose a team to support (you can change as you learn) and get behind that team, you will be surprised how exciting with action and tactics this sport is. Much more exciting than throw ball, with the tactics of baseball or better.

If we were discussing cricket hope for US interest would be lost, but football, real football, is one of the most exciting and fun things the world has ever come up with. suffer through a few matches, and marvel how much and quickly you learn to love it
'United States fans can't be blamed for not sticking around, the us men's national team wouldn't inspire me to,learn to watch a new sport either. They're rubbish might when you see the top payers in the world...

They don't wan t a Chav as a spokesman so vary is. Out, Kane would. Be a better choice....my guess is it times in with the ownership of. Cit y perhaps ms

Hell there are a plethora of. Young respectful players they could have gone with

It is the sun reporting but their football news is often as spot on as it is made up.

Also for Americans here it's important to,understand there's a different journalistic requirement in the not uncommon for journalists to write a piece based solely on supposition with absolutely no source, let alone a second confirming which is the standard in the. United States. What passes for news there often is pure fiction without any foundation in truth, ,something that doesn't fly in the USA. By and large

Can anyone tell me exactly why these people want to be Apple ambassadors, and, vice versa, why would Apple want these people to be brand ambassadors...?

Do Man Utd fans now hate Apple..? (not to mention Tottenham.... :p )

I'll ask again, are these Apple ambassadors or is this a Beats thing?

It's existed a lot longer than your "Football". :p

You of course are quite right. 89 minutes of endlessly passing a ball with your feet without being able to score any points is a riveting afternoon. It's no wonder that everyone goes insane when a ball manages to somehow slip in there. Unfortunately, it always happens while I am draining the spit from my vuvuzela.

But seriously, I have no problem with it being the most popular sport in the world or taking off in the US, but I've seen plenty of games (we have the Real in SLC) and my brother-in-law is from Mexico and often invites me to come watch important games with him, but it's just not going to take for me. I'll stick with my "throw" football.

Well, soccer is the number one sport globally. In 10-12 years, it will be the number two sport - behind only the NFL - in the USA. No amount of posturing, complaining, or dissing the game will change those facts.

Is this a Beats thing ? I've never heard to Brand ambassadors for Apple before ? Is this just a way to get more celebraties on board.

This allowed Beats in the beginning to sell really and headphones cause the ambassadors were cool.

Apple Brand is extremely reputable and trusted that Cook should know they don't need to go down this path...

Serena Williams is a brand ambassador for Apple? Since when? I didn't know Apple had brand ambassadors, unless these come from Beats?
I agree, brand ambassadors sound like a Beats thing and nothing like Apple. They should flip that turd of an acquisition while it's still worth something, and before it further dilutes the Apple brand.

I get the Knicks in average games..like real salt lake...but honestly in throw ball it's four hours two cover ten minutes of action, hardly riveting there either.

MLS is not at a level to compete with proper European, neither is Mexican football...also I don't see too many nil nil draws, in good matches..and three goals let's say even one or two, well, the talent and physical acumen the compared to other sports to me...

Anyway, if I want non stop action I watch MMA. basketball and throwball certainly aren't exciting. Down the end of a court dunk repeat vs stop every ten seconds for three minutes. Eh

Regarding sterling being chose to appeal to some ethnicities, highly doubtful. I don't see Jamaicans rushing to claim him, and the English mostly don't want him.
