Yeah like the keynote to an Apple event has never been accurately revealed before it was announced. Oh wait, it happens literally every single time.

Oh no, it's an "Oh wait" comment... and you even managed to slip a "literally" in there too, just to embolden the impact of an otherwise empty comment.

Time to leave the internet for a while - crazy hour seems to be at its' peak.

I'm sure apple will announce something but it must be in such small quantities to avoid all the leaks, unlike the iPhone 6. I suspect it's an appleTV type deal and they don't really want it to be a major part of the business. Apple has invested heavily in watch related people that they have something in the works but this particular rumor seems like filler with no killer. We don't even know what kind of OS it's running no developer leaks or anything.

The thing is it is not unknown at all when Apple is releasing a "brand new" product like this for it to have not very many leaks at all. Apple has done it quite a few times before in order to avoid major leaks on "brand new" products that is "starting" a new product line that they unveil it a bit earlier than what they usually do. This is to avoid the major leaks that can happen when it enters full production. They unveiled the original iPhone almost six months, I believe, before it was even released. They even said they did this so THEY could be the ones to unveil it to the people and not us find out from it from numerous leaks that would had ended up getting out. The original iPad they did a couple months before and I don't remember a lot of leaks on that and they also unveiled the newly redesigned Mac Pro months before it hit production so they could be the ones to show it to us and not the many leaks. Apple knows anything will be leaked. So when it comes to new products they usually unveil it in a certain way and time that their are very few leaks out to anyone.

If the iPhone 6 price is more then $ 600 I may consider Sharp Aquos Crystal ;)

sooo... can I play Dick Tracy and answer my wrist? I'm a little confused, and the keyboard will be so tiny, and I just mainly text , so how am I... I'm a little confused.
I can't wait.:)

I'm not. The more they announce the more the media will cream their shorts. Leaving anything out just opens up more delay rumors etc. Better to speak now and end the rumors.
There is no rumor about iPad being late at the moment, so there is no need to end a rumor that does not exist. The expectations are modest, so the traction for such a rumor would be low. Besides, I don't think the management gives a damn about such rumors and there is no need to. The few people who would believe that rumor would actually be more likely to buy the existing model rather than wait, so it would not really be bad for the bottom line anyways.

In any case, was any iPhone announcement ever shared with iPad? Sept for iPhone, Oct for iPad + iPod has been the norm for a few years now.

You said what else is there to fill up an hour with just the new iPhone to announce? Well, just watch the last year's announcement and see how time flies. :)

'They are, but they're not.

But maybe.

Battery issues

No, it's not coming.

Well, maybe, not this year.

Yes, 2015.

Wait, late 2014.

Hold on hold on, no

Maybe

Display issues

It's not coming due to issues

3 versions expected to come in 2014

Well, make it 2015

More issues, not coming soon.

It's coming with the iPhone 6, (maybe)

We're not sure'

Sums up the last few months.

Add in the fact Apple has not said a word about this so far. So nothing is confirmed yet.

I'm sure this has been answered already but <re/code> is a Walt Mossberg new outlet. I'd say they're fairly reliable.

Walt Mossberg is NOT Apple so he can't confirm ****.

No, but for many years Mossberg was Steve's favored tech journalist. He knew stuff that nobody outside of Apple did. I don't know if that special relationship exists today with Tim Cook. In any case, the article in question was not written by Walt Mossberg, so it's a bit of a moot point.

It's funny that people think MacRumors is a news site. By definition, rumors are not facts.

1. talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source

2. a statement or report current without known authority for its truth

Wow, that's a surprise.

Should be an exciting (read: excruciatingly painful) week and a half waiting for it.

iPhone mini?

Is anyone interested in an iPhone Mini?
I hope they release one. I would love all the innards of the recent 5S or upcoming 6 inside of a 4s form that fits in my pocket. Galaxy is doing it, I hope Apple can do it as well. I miss the feel of my 4S in my pocket…recent phone too damn big….

But if they unveil iWatch with iPhone 6 in Sept, the event in October will seem to be boring.
iPad mini and IPad Air with Touch ID
OS X Yosemite
May be retina MBA, new iPod touch?

This is the first new product category Apple venture into after Steve Jobs' death. This will be Tim Cook's biggest test so far.

"Apple Mac iOS Rumors and News You Care About."

It's right at the top of the page, so I can see how you missed it.

Apple is going to really have to sell me on this device, and it probably will take a while. It took me until the iPhone 4 to jump on smartphones, and it took me until the iPad Air to really see the value of the iPad.

I don't care about having a glorified fitbit on my wrist, and I don't care to have an extension of my phone on my wrist. I'm assuming most others are the same way. Something that none of us have thought of will have to be the selling point for the vast majority which is why very intrigued to see this unveiling.

Another thing to point out is that there is a very limited number of things you can keep adding to a watch that will make people jump to buy one (At least that's what we think). This may be like the Apple TV or Mac Mini that only sees a refresh once in a blue moon.

Let's see if Apple can wow us. If they can revolutionize yet another product line, then they'll have reached god status as a company in my book. First the music player, then the phone, then the tablet, and now the watch. That would be incredible, but I'm skeptical of this one.

Agreed. It would drive the competition crazy.

only downside is i think, personally, there wouldn't be near as much anticipation. could totally be wrong though.

ANY guesses on what the keynote slogan might be? Here's mine...

"It's time we share"
"It's all about time"
"It's about time"
"Watch this"
"It's time we show you"
"Spend a little time with us"

what about "pairing" the slogan with both items!?

"...And for the SIXTH TIME now.."

I think he's saying that if you exercise a lot, and then feed yourself with McDonald's and all that crap (as I sometime see), then exercise carries little weight toward overall health. Nutrition is #1, that's why all the athletes eat very specific foods, at specific times, with specific nutritional values.

I'm trying to remember the name of the runner back in the 70's, I think, wrote books and went on all the talk shows promoting running as the key to good health. He dropped dead from a heart attack at a young age because of his fatty unhealthy diet.

If all rumors are true, this is going to be one LOOONG keynote. ;)

Or they could just blow through it like WWDC ;)

"We redesigned OS X, with new Notification Center, Spotlight, and Safari and Mail. You can do phone calls and texts on it. iCloud's better, you can send 5 gig attachments and store 200 GB for $4 a month. Devs get near-unlimited bandwidth for free. iOS 8 is 10x more open than before. Apps can share info and UI with each other. You can download widgets and third-party keyboards. Your stuff will talk to your house and your doctor. Apps can use TouchID. Families can share stuff. We made DirectX/CUDA for iOS. Oh yea, we made a new programming language too. And 4,000 APIs."

^Something like that.
