Got to agree with this one. I just realized that I've basically lost access to the presentation I was going to give at noon. I've been working on it from my workstation via iCloud Keynote, but the plan was to use the AppleTV in our conference room to put it up in the screen using my iPad (which I've done many times before).

iCloud is great while it works and all, but lately it seems like it's just been lulling me into a false sense of security and then causing a scramble when it fails.

If you bothered to put Keynote on your iPad, you still have access to the documents via icloud. The only part that is down is the editing capabilities of the web based apps. You can still use the documents on a device with the apps installed.

It's a bit like long and short tons.

Yep, it still hurts when it lands on your foot.

I hope they update the OSX versions. It's been a long wait.

Yeah that would be nice, better would be that every version gets updated to use a common file format. There should be no issue at all when it comes to using a file that comes from Numbers on iOS on a Mac.

yes. i so hope we get completely new redesigned iWork suites for iOS and OS X. i think we can be sure about getting it. they also said at the wwdc keynote 'web iwork, including completely new mac apps' (if i remember correctly).

new aperture and updated apps like iPhoto, etc. would be awesome too.

can't wait for the keynote!

This! Aperture is in desperate need of an update!

It is completely idiotic to make use of "beta" software for business.

Really folks, half this thread is populated with posts from people that are whining about beta software screwing up their lives. Frankly it is foolish to rely upon the web for anything that could be consider critical to you business but it defies all logic to embrace something clearly labeled as BETA for important business activities.

I'm an Office user but I'm excited to see if it'll bring Microsoft some real competition at last. iWork is lacking and over the past few years has seemingly been ignored.

I don't understand the motivation. Doesn't pretty much everyone who might want to use these apps already have an iOS device with them at all times? When would you actually need to use iWork/iMessage/etc. on some random PC?

How about when your phone is flat? Last I heard it's a pretty common thing to have happen.

Isn't this true to everything else on iCloud.com as well? Mail, contacts, calendar, notes and reminders can all be accessed from your iPhone or iPad as well. Also many people have iPhones, but not Macs. These people can currently only use iMessage or Facetime from their phones.

When you want to open an iWork document on a PC... (which did happen to me)

Whats this whole "free with a new mac or ios device"? Is it free to update??? Are they separate apps from '09? Do they come preinstalled now???
