Came here to find out why Gen 3 just updated...and it was just to fix a bug? I was hoping for something a bit more exiting. 😆 Though I should be happy it still gets support. 😜

I appreciate that Apple is still updating our Apple TV 3s. Not bad at all for an older device. And of course it’s a relief to have YouTube working correctly.

apple TV+ has now an extra tab for browsing exclusively that content. Since I do not have other subscriptions I like this option.

After logging in, on my Apple tv 3, data settings for iTunes and iCloud, no app appears except Music, Computers and Setings. I set the region to Serbia, Time: Belgrade / Serbia. My Apple ID is on the Serbia region, iTunes too but still no apps appear. Also on iTunes, when connected to a computer it displays v8,4,4 software and when I look at the device itself via TV, it shows v7,6,2 (8144) of software. It is a model A 1469 Is there any way to fix that?

Are you sure the ATV is connected to the internet and not just your WiFi/local network?

Had problems with podcasts (built in app)from certain providers, I think a restore sorted it for a while. Now it seems certain apps are no longer supported.

But that doesn’t bother me so much as this can be considered old hardware.

The only thing that frustrates me is recently AirPlay no longer works what ever I try on any devices I own. Is there a fix for this?

So I found a fix buy turning off 5ghz on my router….I’m thinking it must of been some sort of interference. Seems still to be working when 5ghz is turned back on.

Figured I'd give apple support a call before rolling back. They said they'll make a note to engineering and get back to me. Will hold off on the rollback for now and will post in here when I hear anything back.
Edited: Oops I just realized this is a VERY old thread. So no reason to comment now since it is so outdated.
