Hey, Phil.I am excited for the future of the Apple TV and TV OS!
I am in the US and my apple TV status just changed to Shipped........ ETA tomorrow
Customers who pre-ordered the Apple TV and opted for one-day shipping have begun receiving their devices in New Zealand, where it is just after 9:00 a.m. local time. Deliveries will begin soon in Australia and countries in Asia, before expanding to Europe and the United States.
Those who pre-ordered their Apple TVs on Monday can expect to begin receiving them at the end of this week and the beginning of next week, as not choosing one-day shipping largely offered delivery estimates of November 2 to November 4.

Apple's retail stores will also begin selling the Apple TV on Friday, October 30. The first customers in Australia should be able to pick up an Apple TV in the next few hours.
As customers begin receiving their Apple TVs, Apple has officially launched the tvOS operating system for the device to allow those with developer and review units to update to the publicly released version. Following the update to the official tvOS software, users are able to access the App Store and search function to locate and install apps on the device.
The Apple TV is available for purchase from the Apple online store. It's priced at $149 for 32GB storage and $199 for 64GB storage.
(Thanks, Scott!)

You should have the Golden Master (assuming it's a Dev unit). The only thing that went live is the App Store connection. Try seeing if you can access? (Assuming you don't have access try rebooting it and see if that has it check to see if the App Store is now online).
Mainly to make Apple more money.I'm really curious if I need 32 or 64GB. Anyone know what it's for besides apps?
Currently, nope. WebKit, UIWebView, etc aren't available in tvOS. You have to use private APIs to make it work, which would get the app rejected.Do you think they'll allow a web browser app?

I reckon it will be just as big a hit as the last ATV3

Me too, but I'm not paying $269 just for that, I've got the Mac Mini hooked up to the TV and sound system for that, and I've got Windows 10 on it so I can download cheap games.Even though I know it won't happen, man do I wish Kodi was available in the App Store![]()
Already available on GitHub: https://github.com/steventroughtonsmith/tvOSBrowserDuh! That makes sense.
Maybe someone will make one and release the source so it can be compiled at home (for those with a SDK membership).

You have to be on the GM build (download from the dev center) and install via iTunes... i wonder how many "developers" really don't know how to update their dev kits...
Thought I'd try to tell my unit it was in New Zealand, but didn't work (wondered if it was timezone specific).I also don't see anything on how to update? Nothing on the developer site or within Software Update
How did it not come with the cable? Did you not get it directly from Apple? If you did, call and request a cable.Mine did not come with the USB-C Cable so kind of hard to do. It did all the updates on its own including adding test flight.
I really want to upgrade - sick of Airplaying Amazon Prime to my ATV3 - however until i see confirmation that Amazon will actually launch such an app - im leaning towards the Fire TV. God what did i just say?![]()
The second batches of Dev units did not come with the cable. Yes got it directly from Apple. How did it not come with the cable? Did you not get it directly from Apple? If you did, call and request a cable.
Wtf? Mine still says preparing to ship. I ordered within 15 mins of it going live. It better be delivered tomorrow.I am in the US and my apple TV status just changed to Shipped........ ETA tomorrow
