Any suggestions from apps currently on the app store that might get moved to TVos--

I am looking for an app that can stream all my videos from iPhoto without the photos and without my doing any exporting. If it plays DVD rips I have that would also be awesome.

I ordered mine on the Apple Store app and did not pay extra for fast shipping, and it's still going to be delivered today. Glad I didn't waste $17 on nothing.

I ordered mine there too, did not pay for fast shipping, and it's still preparing for shipment. Stupid.

So, just to make sure I understand this, one poster is boasting that he didn't pay for fast shipping and still got his on day 1. You're complaining that you didn't pay for fast shipping and didn't get yours on day 1. All I can say is WOW.

I ordered mine on Monday, didn't opt for one day shipping and mine was delivered this morning at 9am Pacific. Not complaining, just odd.

That's pretty much what people said of the first iPhone - "Where are the apps?". Where there are millions of users, there will be developers. Particularly for Apple who's customers seem to be willing to (gasp) *pay* for apps.
I totally agree apart from the first iPhone did things that no other device really did and also it had a great design. The new Apple TV is just a black box that look the same as the last generation. Its not like you even have a flash looking bit of kit. I just find it odd that Apple didn't put some of its basic apps and functionality like maps, FaceTime, etc on it from day one. Apple haver all of this technology and content but they don't make it available on all their devices. Maps would be great viewing them a a massive screen. I just can't find anything on it that is any different from The Amazon Fire Stick and that cost me £19.99. I am sure something will come along but Apple needs to pick up its game or technology will take over from it. The Apple TV was great in the past as you could hook it in to say your iTunes collection and your photos. But with things like Spotify and Apple Music and photos being in the Cloud, many devices can do this or very similar.

i have one in home for media consumption. i have another in my office so that we can share our computers or ios devices in the large screen. feel more comfortable with apples implementation of this compared to other solutions.
and amazon? nope. i dont see why i would go out of my apple environment.

A little short on the apps at the moment, but that doesn't stop me loving it! Had a lot of fun trying some of the apps that are available, and Siri understands me very very well. Can't ask for anymore at the moment!

I am annoyed at the no Optical Out though. But I found a cheap solution online, just have to wait for it!

Customers who pre-ordered the Apple TV and opted for one-day shipping have begun receiving their devices in New Zealand, where it is just after 9:00 a.m. local time. Deliveries will begin soon in Australia and countries in Asia, before expanding to Europe and the United States.

Those who pre-ordered their Apple TVs on Monday can expect to begin receiving them at the end of this week and the beginning of next week, as not choosing one-day shipping largely offered delivery estimates of November 2 to November 4.

Apple's retail stores will also begin selling the Apple TV on Friday, October 30. The first customers in Australia should be able to pick up an Apple TV in the next few hours.

As customers begin receiving their Apple TVs, Apple has officially launched the tvOS operating system for the device to allow those with developer and review units to update to the publicly released version. Following the update to the official tvOS software, users are able to access the App Store and search function to locate and install apps on the device.

The Apple TV is available for purchase from the Apple online store. It's priced at $149 for 32GB storage and $199 for 64GB storage.

(Thanks, Scott!)

My delivery date is nov 2-4 and order still says prepping for shipping... Well I requested a refund and went to Apple Store and have one in my hand right now! Just have to wait 3-5 business days to process refund

What a disappointment. Siri not available at all, as it seems as soon as you're not using an US iTunes account. What a stupid prerequisite.

And I can't use my Mac as a keyboard (with typeeto), nor my iphone, the remote app doesn't work either. The worst Apple TV so far!

I had mine on order and still said processing, SO... I just cancelled and am on my way to the Apple Store to pick mine up. They're available for in-store pickup today... or else I would have had to wait until possibly the 10th...

Diversity and misinformation are not the same....
Every news agency out there shells out misinformation. They all cater to those who watch their programming.

I have no faith in ANY "News" channels to tell the news like it really happened. It is always twisted however they want... or think they're viewers want to hear.

This includes CNN, Fox News, CNBC, and many of the online "News"papers, like "The New York Times"

To quote Bill O'Reilly LMFAO... none of them are the "No Spin Zone" LOL

"news" is such a joke.

You need download the New build and restore with iTunes. It won't work OTA
So in my last post I was hoping you were wrong about OTA - just got an email saying you were right.

Why haven't they included the cable in the second wave, and why I did all the stores around me without finding such cable is beyond me at the moment.

I no longer have TestFlight on my unit as of today, you're talking about a way to help us developers... at least I got my unit free :)

Don't be a tool. Embrace diversity.

I hear white people in the UK can't go into Birmingham because it's a no go zone for non Muslims, and is a caliphate state ruled with Sharia Law.

Which is a bummer, because the nearest Apple Store to me is in Birmingham.

What do you mean by stupid pre-requisite? Where are you from? Apple did say that Siri will only be available in 8 countries at launch and there was also a chance that the remote wouldn't even have the Siri button on it.

What does the app store have to do with siri? When I switch region us and language to english, that should be enough to enable siri, shouldn't it?

PS: They sell the 32 GB model for €179 here, that's almost $200. So they should do a little more than just saying maybe it won't even have a siri button. Apple is making more than half it's renvenue outside the US, but still they treat the rest of the world like 3rd world.

I hope there's a Fox News app to go go along with the existing CNBC and CNN apps. News Corp has been stingy in the past, but since there's one on iPad and one that works in a web browser, it makes no sense to deny us an authentication-based app for Apple TV.
When did Fox start doing news?

Hold on a second I'm confused. Does does Siri work when connected to US iTunes account?

Ps: the cost is irrelevant it has always been like this and users make a choice whether to purchase or not.
