My wish is they release the thing already. ATV3 is old now and I'm dying to get one (after I sold my ATV2 a long time ago) and don't want to buy the 3 when the 4 is most likely on the near horizon.
Have the ability to download Apps and run them on Apple TV so you can use it to watch programming. Otherwise, you have to use Airplay to do that! Ugh!

Costco just got Apple TV in. They are display it as you come in. Electronics personal tell me it the latest and great product! State of the art!
Designated audio outs are missing. That's the main reason I've never bought one.
4K for all the AV geeks though I don't want it personally.
All they can do is add 4k which 90% of people don't need and they don't even support it yet.
With the 5k iMac released and iPhone 6's capable of doing 4k video (with the only use for that being 4k Airplay), I'm kind of betting on the new Apple TV being called Apple TV 4k.
Hopefully Apple will work out deals to upgrade previously purchased content to 4k or 3D as these things become options in Apple's ecosystem.
The original TV had optical out as well as discrete left and right audio out. Time for a new excuse.
All I want is a TV SHOW 'Genre' tab and or single title start for each TV Show. Hate scrolling through everything to find what I want to watch. Brutal
1) Continuous Play. Once a TV show episode finished playing the next should start automatically. Having to manually start each episode of a season is so 2010.
I used to hear that all the time about HD. In the last year, I have only heard one person say that they couldn't appreciate HD.
Exactly what many people were saying about HD in 2008. But, it turns out that a lot of people can tell the difference and do like HD.
I see no reason for the new ATV to come out unless and until it supports 4K (3840x2160p60) over HDMI 2.0.
That's not true at all. The Vizio 60"/70" 4K P-Series was recently on sale for $999/$1999 respectively. I think you can get the 50" model at Wal-Mart for around $700. Of course the Seiki's are even cheaper but crap quality. They are having issues producing 4K TV's in large cheap quantities meaning they won't be cheap enough to sell large amounts. It doesn't matter if people can tell the difference or not when the average consumer can't afford one.
Prices have declined even faster than for HDTVs, which debuted a decade ago, says Shawn DuBravac, chief economist for the Consumer Electronics Association. "Promotions during Black Friday should both improve consumer's awareness of the technology, as well as accelerate the uptake of the technology," he said.
Nearly every electronics retailer and most discounters are getting in on the 4K action this holiday shopping weekend. "4K is red hot right now. You can buy it for less than a regular HDTV," says Tom Campbell, technologist for Video and Audio Center. "In two years, you won't be able to give away a regular HDTV."
You're dreaming if you think any new apple tv is going to match xbox one/ps4 in graphics. At the same time it should deliver superior and sustained graphics output compared to any console on the market.

Well, how did this list compare to release??
