Apple TV 4K Buyer's Guide: Comparing the Generations

I have a 2020 QLED and the Apple TV app does indeed play in HDR10+ so my app has been updated.

I checked my QN90A tv again today.

The ATV app version is 13.0 , region is United Kingdom , maybe I should have mentioned that but would have thought roll out would be the same.

It doesn’t seem right that the actual tvOS is 13.0 , it must be 15.0.

Also when it is playing a movie on the app , the info button does not report the signal type.

I have the 2022 ATV 4K and when it is playing hdr10+ Content , the info button reports the signal (as HDR10+) eg with Godzilla vs Kong.

FWIW, I'm finding the new 2022 Apple TV to be damn fast, and it's especially noticeable in HomeKit.

In the past, were I to reboot the HomeKit hub, in this case the Apple TV as it is hard wired, the reboot time would be slow enough that a HomePod would pick up being the hub. Were I then to reboot that HomePod the hub role would revert back to the Apple TV, as is correct, it being hardwired.

However, a reboot with the new Apple TV 2022 is so fast that HomeKit doesn't even notice that a hub has gone down and the hub role remains with the Apple TV.

Also, and this 'may' be placebo, everything does seem snappier :D

As regards the Samsung QN90A TV’s Apple TV app , it does support HDR10+ , I was able to confirm by cycling thru picture mode and it says HDR10+ for certain content.
