Major disappointment. As others have pointed out, purchased content is a no-go. I have well over 100 movies and TV shows purchased through iTunes/AppleTV over the years and none of them are available. I do have Apple TV+ through Apple One, so the app isn't totally useless, but its utility is a lot less than I had hoped.

What on God’s green Earth is going on. What’s next, iOS will be open source or on other devices?! That definitely would be heaven on Earth.
It’s about having their subscription services everywhere

Use movies anywhere to sync your digital film library across the ecosystem
What's going on is Apple is choosing to boost services revenue. It's always about the money. 💰💰💰
apple Music is everywhere and tv plus already on most streaming devices and smart TVs.

It’s crazy how Apple is always one way or another, you would think they would leverage their dominance in that area but as usual they will squander it like podcasts until some one takes the cake from them and then they will scramble

2 for 2. At this rate, tomorrow Apple will make the ability to preview an email in Mail without marking "read" a reality too.

If I can’t view purchase content on it then it’s a no for me, Apple needs to allow content from users library to be viewed other then iPhones, not just for Apple TV+

I have the Apple TV app on my PlayStation five and I can view all my purchased content

I believe it was Jobs reaching for FARRRRRRRRR more revenue from the much larger world of Windows users... who were also buying/interested in iPods at the time. That was actually THE key move to iPod explosive growth success vs. keeping it all for only Mac and never making nearly as much unless the world came around to embracing Mac too in much greater numbers.

I suspect the Safari part of that was just an opportunistic play in the time in between fading I.E. and rising alternatives. Microsoft had just demonstrated how to make a vast fortune by dominating the browser market and Apple and others saw an opportunity to try to do the same after the GOV put the pinch of I.E. business practices.

The problem of Apple focus on services is the lack of quality and innovation of software / hardware.

I have never seen the point of Apple TV+. It’s feels like a vanity project for Tim Cook to mingle with the Hollywood set.

Apple has multiple departments/units focusing on multiple things. After all, it's the hardware that helps drive services revenue. If Apple isn't innovating and maintaining software/hardware quality, they risk losing customers that generate services revenue.

I do have MoviesAnywhere, but there are a bunch of studios that don’t participate, such as Paramount or Lionsgate. Plus, MoviesAnywhere only works for movies and not TV shows. I have quite a few TV shows purchased from iTunes Store.

Oh, I didn’t realize this didn’t exist unit now. I figured it had come along with all the other AppleTV+ apps. Weird that they didn’t support the other largest smartphone OS.

That’s too bad about the purchased TV shows and movies not being available. I use functionality all the time with my TVs and the various native Apple TV+ apps.
