Is there an Amazon or VUDU app for TVOS?

I believe I saw Amazon say that they didn't think they were going to do an App for tvOS. Shame, we will still be using AirPlay to get Amazon Prime onto the TV.

I don't know about Zulu.

That's too bad. Guess I'll just keep the old appletv until there's more of an incentive to upgrade. Between AirPlay, switching between HBO and showtime, Netflix and the antenna, I'm very happy to have cut the cord a few years back. I game on other systems so I don't see myself missing anything.

I'm feeling the same way. I have a current ATV and Roku 3 on the same TV that covers most everything.

I'd really like to get rid of the Roku but then I'd have to tie up my MBA using Airplay to push Sling and Amazon to the ATV.

Great now everyone can run speedtests from their TV's.. as well as their phones, tablets and computers.. 5 times a day.

Seriously after all these years with the App Store you are concerned you will loose something, or is it a case you have never purchased anything from the app store. It is always there if you need to re-download for any reason.

That's not true.

Recently I had Peace (content blocker), but it got removed from the App Store and I had no iTunes backup.

I upgraded my iPhone to the 6S and now it's gone forever.

Does anyone know if Plex is going to be a truely free app? Or if it's going to be in "preview" and only actually work with a Plex Pass.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks our Aussie boys have done a pretty good job at copying Frogger. Patent must have expired.

How does Crossy Road win a design award when it is nothing but Frogger. Maybe a copycat award

Yes I am and I don't trust the cloud.

People have become accustomed to owning jack too much these days, it became "acceptable" to the majority, because the majority of computer users these days are, honestly phrased and in no way judging, novices.
Just like I am a novice - to a great extend - with many other things I use daily.
We can't be proficient in everything we need and that's OKAY, however it does lead to manufacturers or service providers to use this to their advantage.

I've built a good library using VUDU because of all my old DVD's. You can scan them 10 at a time and I think the HD copy is only like 2 bucks or so. That's the most economical way for me to get my DVD library into HD files. The interface isn't great but it's a good way to get the films online.

If Amazon doesn't release a native app it's their loss. I'll cancel my Prime in a hearbeat.

Isn't it kind of weird that there's no Infinity Blade at launch? Seems like it would have been a perfect fit.

Can anyone advise me if in the uk there will be catchup tv and freeview tv app coming to the new Apple tv.

Plex has been rejected two times... As of now, it is on the third round of review (source: plex forum)
Do you have a link to the topic? I've been following things for a couple weeks there and have not seen any mention of these rejections. Perhaps you misinterpreted something you read ;-)

It's s start. App potential for this new AppleTV was its biggest appeal to me. I'm sure as time goes on awesome apps will be made for it and I'll spend more time using apps with my big TV as the display rather than my iPhone or iPad.

I think between watching TV shows on it with apps like Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now along with some games and other productivity apps, I'll be on this new AppleTV all the time.
Now here is a thought. Add the wireless keyboard and you basically have a computer on your TV (or an ipad equivalent at least). Let's see if Apple releases iWorks for the Apple TV. Or Safari. That would be really interesting.

Well, iPlayer is coming: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-34660204
ITV have, apparently said "no plans" (but that's what BBC said a month ago) and no news on C4/C5.

Live Freeview via. DVB seems unlikely - it would need hardware and drivers (and I doubt Apps can include drivers), plus even 'Pause live TV' would probably need more storage than the AppleTV has, so there's not much point.

When Plex for AppleTV comes out, it may be possible to stream Freeview or recorded programs from a server*

The integrated "Freeview Play" and "YouView" services (which show that its perfectly possible to integrate all the catch-up services) seem to be tied to hardware makers at the moment. Maybe the prospect of being able to sell a Freeview Play or YouView app on a secure platform like the ATV will tempt them into releasing an App but I wouldn't hold your breath.

(* My PVR is a linux box with a quad tuner card running MythTV - I've just installed Plex media server on that, and there's a Plex plug-in that allows you to play MythTV recorded programs. I've had that working so I can watch Myth recordings on Chromecast or Airplayed from Plex on an iPad... currently the entertainment has been seeing what will work rather than watching stuff, though!)

Thanks for all your info all my questions answered in one post I'm doubting that ATV is for me.
