Apple TV+ is currently available at a much lower price than usual, but time is running out if you want to take advantage of the offer.

In the U.S., new and qualified returning customers can subscribe to Apple TV+ for just $2.99 per month, for three months. Afterwards, regular pricing of $9.99 per month applies. The offer is available in the Apple TV app, and at tv.apple.com, through April 24. Unfortunately, existing subscribers are not eligible to receive the discount.

The promotion is running in other countries, too. In Canada, for example, the special price is set at $3.99 per month. In the U.K., it is set at £2.99.

With an Apple TV+ subscription, you can watch all of Apple's original shows and films. You can also watch select MLB and MLS games with weekly Friday Night Baseball and Sunday Night Soccer doubleheaders, at no additional cost.

Steve Jobs had once explained why Apple didn’t have sales for their products. Consumers perceive your real value based off your lowest offered price.
That is how I often feel about Chromebooks. I think we continue to sing the Post Covid Blues.
I'm not willing to cough up any additional money than what Xfinity TV gets already.
I'm waiting patiently for Apple TV Plus to offer a cheaper ad based version like so many others.
Still don't want it but looking forward to Apple joining the crowd.

I think almost all streaming services have promotions at one time or another. Stores have sales. It's called a deal.

I hear ya… Please don’t take it personally if you like Apple TV+

I just think this situation is a little different as they are constantly giving away free access and now doing a sale on the price.

It just feels like they’re having a little bit of trouble on the uptake here.

I could be absolutely 100% wrong.

There have been a couple shows I’ve enjoyed, but I try to divorce my feelings about those versus my objective thoughts on the Service overall.

That's a great deal to check it out.....or to go back to see if you might want it again.

I don't disagree, I just don't think Apple is desperate nor what they are doing is a desperate measure.

he's gone for 15 years, the world has changed since ...
But it's true. That's why many companies don't even bother about giving discounts (except for products which are outgoing from the assortment). Ikea is an example. I personally know a food supplement manufacturer in Sweden who don't allow online shops to dumb the price like they do with many brands. In fact, Apple TV+ is not worth more than $3 /month when you compare the content.

In the case of physical products Steve Jobs explanation has some validity. However in the context of streaming subscription services sales make perfect sense. Virtually every streaming service has sales from time to time. This is how you increase subscriber base. You give the consumers a deal so they get to sample and get hooked into the content.

This is nothing new and has always been the case for subscription based media. This is how it worked in the days of cable tv, magazines, and newspapers. In fact almost every subscription based service that I have signed up for was due to a promotional offer.

I would have purchased it so that I can play less Video Games, but since the Oblivion Remaster got leaked, I don't think I will even get the chance to use the service because I'm going to be playing that as much as possible lol.

Pachinko was pretty good. I'm going to see Min Jin Lee speak at a book festival this evening. Maybe she'll provide an update on season 3.

It still works, except for my Xfinity TV. They instead make low priced services available like slower Internet.
I think they still have a deal including Apple TV+ and it is the only one of three without commercials.
Way back in my days working for Radio Shack in the early 80s, there were ads in the back of magazines for cheaper Tandy computers. I can understand Steve's opinion but companies like Amazon don't see it that way.
It does seem interesting, the other side of the coin, where Apple Arcade is the same price, where others have increased. I'm guessing true Apple fans are using Apple One anyway.
