I think it’s worth it if you’re actually watching TV. If I spent hours a day, I would pay $200 for cable, which is what it cost in my area. It’s just the fact that I might watch 30 minutes a day TV. I can get just as much entertainment watching YouTube.I don't pay $200+ on TV from Xfinity/Comcast but it now costs more to get my local sports channels.
Not a cord cutter as in our house the TV is on all day. Yeah, like a baby sitter for adults.
With streaming I would go over my data cap all the time.
Not sure whatever prompted Apple to create the Apple TV box and Apple TV Plus.
Yes, MGM is part of Amazon, since I don't see that anyone has answered that.
I think data caps suck because it’s just a tool cable providers use to make it more difficult to cut the cord. In the USA there are so many monopolies when it comes to cable TV and Internet. It’s weird how they get an exception.
I just think you’re looking at it in a more cynical light. Any type of trial that doesn’t cost full price is designed to get you to want to buy the product. Whether that’s getting you hooked like drugs or just determining whether you want to buy it or not is different way to look at it. Think of if you had to buy a car before you can drive it. You can drive that car for free as a test but obviously you’re not going to keep it for free. Is the dealer trying to get you hooked on that nice car? Absolutely!I think you're more tolerant of this tactic than I am. I call it bait and switch - get 'em hooked cheap, then jack up the price when they have to see the next episode after the trial runs out.
With something like Netflix or Apple TV you can use a free trial to see if you like anything and then if you don’t just cancel it. Ideally they want you to keep watching so you keep paying. There is also a cynical viewpoint that they hope you just forget that you subscribed and keep paying even though you don’t watch it. That kind of reminds me of a gym membership but at least you don’t have a contract with a TV streaming service.
