It was a fun show (at least the first two seasons). After that, it went downhill.

All the supporting characters from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are better off on that show rather than Mythic Quest.

Remains cancelled for me until new seasons of severance and silo

So maybe 2029?

This is the problem of streaming services. I’m also ‘subscription hopping’. Ironically the better business model might be, in this landscape, to sell content as separate purchases.

For me the show felt unbalanced. In the beginning they had good storylines but the characters were not there yet. And in the last 2 seasons the characters were more fleshed out but they didn’t have any compelling stories. And the show dragged along.

Yeah, season 3 was just really bad and was lacking direction. S4 got the train a bit on track again, but I guess it was too late.

What I just don't get is why they made these 4 "Side Quest" bonus episodes that are totally worthless. Would've rather liked a proper series finale with a two-parter than these excursions.

I loved the first two seasons that had such brilliant writing and humor but it seems they ran out of ideas and were treading water…badly. It was no longer that funny or tight. It just went downhill from the 3rd season to the 4th which wasn’t good at all.

The Sidequest mini series was actually awesome

Budget cuts are understandable as Apple TV Plus+ is currently a business failure. I am saying currently because it may improve but with significant cost reduction and production of really good shows.
Not sure it’s so easy to declare something is a ‘business failure’ unless you’re looking at it in a two dimensional way. As the iPod ‘Halo effect’ proved, sometimes products (or services) have an outsize positive effect on another area of a company’s overall business.

In this case Apple TV+ is generating prestige and a feeling that being in the Apple ecosystem is a nice, high quality place to be.

This and Ted Lasso were the only things Apple ever did worth watching. If enough of us cancel AppleTV maybe Eddie Clueless can get his cancellation.
Flat out worst comment. They have amazing shows on there more than the 2 you quoted. Your taste could be different. But Dark Matter was great. Shrinking. Foundation and Silo just to name a few.

Sure sets an interesting precedence at least I have never heard of - re-releasing episodes due to changes.
Will be interesting to see if this will apply to other shows in the future, for example when certain jokes, political views etc, goes out of style.
The last episode of Star Trek Discovery had scenes added or reshot after the show was canceled to give it a good ending.

I haven’t heard of anything being shot again for reasons beyond giving the show a proper finale.

The show a few very good taste jokes. then some very caricaturized b.s. ones which made it very difficult to watch. like somebody forced them to have a quota for the average reader.

Season 1 was great, then it kind of progressively got worse over each following season. Still watched it, but definitely not as enjoyable as S1. Glad they will give it an actual finale, modern TV sucks in that they come up with these extravagant plot lines and cliffhangers, then shows get cancelled and nothing is ever a finished story. That's one thing that makes Breaking Bad so good, it has an end. I'm hoping Severance can see the same, a proper, planned ending and not the endless dragging out that TV studios end up doing to rake out a few more dollars.

Really enjoyed this show. Some smart comedy and some really touching episodes. Will have to admit, that I am ok with it ending now. I didn't see where they could go from now with Poppi and Ian. Good to see them getting a proper good bye.

I really liked the show and sad to see it end. The COVID-19 episode was excellent, and really captured how people felt during that time.

However, how it was evolving wasn't the way I felt it should have gone. Jumping Rachel and Dana to senior management was a stretch and not necessary certainly for Rachel. Jo was becoming to psychopathic and didn't make sense on why she was still at the company. Worse was Brad, who actively was trying to bring the company down or betray them constantly, but the company would still keep him on. The characterisations of certain people went too far.

Side Quest was an interesting idea, but don't think they knew what to do with it.

"Apple is canceling popular comedy series Mythic Quest" -> "Apple's decision to cancel Mythic Quest follows reports of ‌Apple TV‌+ losses"

This is comedy gold😂

"‌Apple TV‌+ is losing as much as $1 billion per year as Apple works to lure subscribers and add more content to the streaming service."

No one saw this coming...

All the characters became more and more unlikable with each season and it became more of character drama than satirizing the gaming industry like Silicon Valley did for tech. It was a struggle to finish the 4th season. F. Murray Abraham's character wasn't vital, but him getting #metooed and them killing off his character didn't help.

Thanks for the spoilers.

Success got to Rob McElhenney's* noggin. Or too much time spent with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively / Taylor Swift.

🤢
