Apple may have lit 10 billion dollars on fire for the Apple Car project before flushing it all down the toilet, but I bet they'll make it all back in no time with these Apple TV subscriptions.
Lol exactly. It’ll take them another two weeks to make that back in revenue.
We don't know how many paying TV+ subscribers there are. One estimate has it at between 20 million and 40 million. Another estimate is at 25 million. Let's say there are 35 million. At $9.99/mo, Apple TV+ brings in $349,650,000/mo in revenue.

It would take ( $10,000,000,000 ÷ $349,650,000 ) 28.6 months for Apple to make that $10 billion back. That's a little over 2 years, not 2 weeks.

Flush is a bit stretched. I am sure they learned a lot, and hopefully, a lot of that moves to other projects like CarPlay.

I can confirm these movies below are in 3D (free) fo Apple Vision Pro owners.
  • Jurassic World (2015)
  • Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
  • Edge of Tomorrow
  • Star Trek: Into Darkness
  • Star Trek Beyond
  • Gravity
  • Mad Max: Fury Road
Most if not all of those movies were NOT shot in 3D so they aren't that great. I have a 109" 3D screen and it makes a huge difference if the movies was originally shot in 3D or if it was done post production. I hope Apple adds some movies that were shot in 3D. My favorites are A Verry Harold & Kumar Christmas and Avatar...

I could be wrong, but I think @coffeemilktea was being sarcastic.

Yup, and that is just revenue. Adding the product costs of some of Apple’s recent Box Office failings, as well as the cost of everything else for ATV+, it will most likely take a lot longer to make that 10 billion back.

The 10b $ was not lost on AppleTV+, so how are they related in any way? By the way, R&D cost is not necessarily a loss.

Avatar and sequel are on Disney+ in 3d for avp and it’s better 3d than at the actual movies.

So these are at no charge to Apple+ subscribers?

And are any of them in in 4K HDR? If so, that would be a big change from the movies Netflix licenses from WB as those are not in 4K.

I used to be able to watch anything from Apple TV+ while using a VPN (US viewer using a US VPN server location) but for a few months most can only be watched with VPN turned off.

Did something change at Apple ?

They are not, I didn’t make the relation between the two, I just responded to the people that said that ATV+ subs were going to offset the $10 billion loss in R&D.

Did you read the posts?

I watched The Hurt Locker in a movie theatre and ... I was the only person in the theatre. I sat in the middle. Then, it won the academy award for best picture. So ... if you're watching on your Apple Vision Pro, make sure to sit in the middle of the theatre to get a similar experience 🍸🐈
