My apologies. I think it supports the paid-for Showtime, not Showtime Anytime (the one used for existing subscribers). That would definitely explain this issue.

But not all the Showtime apps. Just the one you have to subscribe to through Apple. The regular showtime app that you can access if you're paying through your cable provider doesn't have siri access.

It supports both showtime apps and the same goes for both HBO apps. I use showtime anytime and HBO go and it works with it. If it isn't working for you you should try restarting your Apple TV or contact Apple for trouble shooting assistance.

I have been, for the most part, very happy with the new Apple TV. UI glitches or inconsistencies and the lack of some "should be there" features will hopefully be added in the coming months. For now, I feel this is a great start for a brand new platform. It will only get better. I do think Apple is stretching themselves a bit thin though.

I get Showtime Anytime because I subscribe to showtime through my cable provider. But when I ask Siri to play Homeland she only gives options for purchasing episodes from iTunes or opening the Showtime app which costs $10/mo. It won't just take me to the Showtime Anytime app.

Okay, wait. What? The primary reason I ordered an ATV4 was so I could quickly figure out which of my services have the movie or show I want to watch. Like you I have the HBO and Showtime apps that work with my cable provider account, not the newer subscription apps. Those (and Netflix) are what I want to search.

If this is true and not fixed soon I guess I will join the returners. I assume the problem is that the non-subscription versions of the apps haven't been updated to support search yet? How will we know if they ever will be?

I don't know about Showtime, but I have HBO through my cable service and Siri works with it.
(It also works with Netflix)

I was happy to see Plex added, so it is already getting a lot better. Many more apps coming out everyday.
