The Apple One Bundle is the way to go. I get through my wireless provider at a discount. and only pay a few dollars more for Music, AppleTV+, iCloud Drive, and Arcade. Worth it.

It is getting back to the days that you might as well subscribe to cable
This has been my argument for a long time. People complained about cable prices, but if these cabel systems just offered the streaming apps as a bomnus to subscribing, people would be happy.

I think it would justify the $300/month bill. You get the channels AND you get the streaming apps? Sounds like the right thing to do. Other than greed, I cannot figure out why these companies dont do it.

I am sure 12 months commitments are next or 5 bucks extra for the "opportunity" to cancel monthly to give "users the most incredible choice" of what they need.

They all learned nothing from former years of pirating. I am surprised the music industry hasn't come up with a streaming service by each label yet
Because the money is in the publishing and rights, not the label. Having the same song across multiple platforms (Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, etc), gets the music played multiple times and (theoretically) should make the artist more money (vs it being on one platform, the way movies and tv shows are).

Oddly enough, think of it like radio. You hear the same songs on different stations. We don't have JUST a radio station playing SOny Music and another playing Warner Music. It just wouldn't make any sense.

Apple TV is amazing has great shows...But $13/mo is steep as it doesn't have a huge backlog of content/movies.
Exactly, I have it for free through my bank luckily but I rarely watch it. Before the bank offer I would subscribe for a month to binge a show and then cancel.. I think there is only a handful of shows I’ve enjoyed with stick being the last one.

I really wish they could add back catalogue of shows and movies.

I am glad that I get it free with my T-Mobile subscription. With the exception of Schmigadoon, which I really liked, even though I don’t like musicals. Severance and Ted Lasso was good too. Not much else on there is interesting to me.

I took advantage of the 2.99 for 3 months deal a while back & cancelled it after a week. Its just a joke, boring, bland content. Not that the other streaming services are much better but Apple TV+ is beyond poor, junk tv.

I wonder how that makes sense. Surely, the vast majority of people who have TV+, will get it via a free trial or in the Apple One Bundle. There's not enough content there to justify a full time subscription for most people (and at least 50% of it is polished but bland and shallow) - and the ones who subscribe to streaming services on and off are a small minority. But maybe it's about maximizing profits from them and ripping off people who forget to cancel their free trial.

That's what I keep saying to the people who think they are smart by subscribing for a month and binging everything. These companies have their eyes on them too and will eventually catch up. I think there will be a bit more of a pushback with that though, which is why I think they are still trying to figure out a way to do that with the least pushback.

Those people along with the continual subscribers that just wait until a whole season or series are released are also the reason why a lot of decent to good shows keep getting canceled. It's not necessarily their fault as they have been trained to do it, but it makes a show look bad when these companies only look at a brief period of time to judge popularity and value to continue the show.

I'm also kind of surprised the music labels didn't try their hand at getting a piece of the streaming pie by releasing their own service. It was kind of attempted with artists doing exclusivity deals with certain services. I wonder why that is. My guess is that they realized how expensive it is to start, maintain, and grow a streaming service that it wasn't worth it to them. I wish these studios would have realized that too so that the market wouldn't be where it's at today.

Mint is $15 if you pay for a full year in advance. I’ve had Mint on a second line for a couple of years because it gives me unlimited calling to Europe - which is the only reason I have it.

It’s a lot cheaper than the $40/month I paid to Vonage for international for over a decade.

Of course, in it’s time, Vonage was way cheaper than what the US telcos were charging for international back in the 2000’s and 2010’s)

Times change.
You’re right, I added a couple dollars to account for the taxes and fees.

How are yall complaining when ATV+ is like the lowest priced service??? If you dont appreciate the attention to detail, art and presentation with a lot of their content maybe you won't understand where their value is but either way when did we know apple to be on the cheeper end of things honestly?
Other services have lower starting prices. Sure, they may have ads, but I don't really mind them...especially since I only watch about an hour or two of TV a day. To me, it's not worth paying more just to save a few minutes.

Netflix: $7.99
Disney+, Hulu Bundle: $10.99
Prime Video: $8.99 (not to be confused with Amazon Prime)
Peacock: $10.99
Paramount+: $7.99

Apple TV+ for $12.99 is still a good deal when compared to other ad-free tiers...however, their content library is significantly smaller compared to other services, so it can go either way depending on how you look at it. If they had a cheaper ad-supported tier, I would drop down to that one.

I tried to tell everyone cable would end up being cheaper!
Well, yeah...if you subscribe to every streaming service at once. Many people rotate between them. Subscribe to one or two services, get caught up, cancel, and move on to the next.

Apple today raised the monthly price of its Apple TV+ streaming service to $12.99 in the U.S., according to 9to5Mac's Benjamin Mayo.

Apple TV+ cost just $4.99 per month in the U.S. when it launched in 2019, but the price has now increased three times. The price went up to $6.99 per month in 2022, and then to $9.99 per month in 2023, and now the service costs $12.99 per month. The latest price increase applies to select other countries too.

An annual subscription to Apple TV+ will continue to cost $99 in the U.S., and Apple One bundle prices are not changing, the report said.

The new price is effective immediately for new Apple TV+ subscribers, but various free trial options remain available. For existing subscribers, the price increase will take effect 30 days after their next renewal date, the report said.

In a statement shared with 9to5Mac, Apple attempted to justify the price increase by noting that it has continued to expand its library of original content, and it touted the value of its Apple One plans with multiple Apple services.

Many other streaming services like Disney+ and Netflix have raised prices in recent years.

Apple TV+ is awful. I have tried it several times hearing about new shows that sound good but alas. Garbage.

In order to provide quality premium content, Apple must pay more to retain big star quality, attract talent, and to fund productions of high caliber types. That's why Apple is raising the prices again. You are getting what you're paying for.
When are they going to produce a high quality program? Haven't see one yet.
