Apple TV Remote Now Has a USB-C Port

this is nice....I guess.

I have a double Qi Charger that runs through my couch...it is powered by a USB-C Plug and I keep wanting to place the TV remote on the Qi or even pull the plug on that to charge the remote but have to instead walk to the kitchen for the Lightning cables. not a BIG deal and not a Remote I will buy just because of USB-C but a nice thing.

Meh. I'm not rushing to replace my existing remotes or Apple TV units for that matter. It's fine they made the move, and I suspect we'll continue to see more accessories make the move as well. New Macs will be reason to move the magic keyboard, mouse and trackpad over.

Remote on my 4K dies after a week or less these days (funny as my even older one still lasts 3+ months). Don't think that alone is enough reason to update.

Wow!! Had mine since it came out. I use it almost every day and so far only had to charge it twice. And one of those wasn’t 100% necessary!

Now THAT’s exciting **** you, lightning. Still annoyed it doesn’t have an AirTag style speaker though.

I bought a simple case from Amazon with a slot for an AirTag. Helps add the needed bulk and grip to the remote, and solves the AirTag question. IMHO, a better solution than packing even more tech inside this tiny remote and charging more for it, when most people don't need it.

Has Apple introduced support for multiple Siri Remotes yet?

I would really love to pair two Siri Remotes with one Apple TV. 😩 I have an Apple TV in my home gym, and I'd like to dedicate/attach one Siri Remote to the treadmill, so it always lives on the treadmill, and a second Siri Remote when using other equipment.

Would also be handy for two-player games with one Siri Remote per player on a single Apple TV, no?
