Apple TV Remote Now Has a USB-C Port

By the 12 mini only takes 12W via MagSafe is it higher than this USB-C to Lightning?

Using the same 20W-Charger for MagSafe and with the cable, it takes about twice as long with MagSafe.

So is it ok to buy or will Apple bring out another even more potent appletv soon ?

I only ask as I was lead to believe the new one would be very gaming focused … is this it ?

The previous Apple TV 4K's didn't include a charger. They included a usb-c to lightning cable only. You only have to charge this remote a few times a year so I doubt most people are buying dedicated chargers for it.

Sorry for not being as specific as you needed me to be. They no longer include a charging cable.

I'll probably still somehow own a couple things that use Micro USB, which is truly the cockroach of the USB world.

Lol any time I think of Micro USB I shudder at just how bad it is (and also how ubiquitous it become despite this fact) and I also think of just how beautiful Mini USB was by comparison!

I love USB-C, but I must admit the stem in the middle of the port is indeed a worry as far as port reliability is concerned (already seen an iPad Air need a replacement port due to someone accidentally attempting to plug a lightning cable into it).

I know I know, technically not the port’s fault but lightning does have this port/jack design advantage even if it’s woefully behind on technical capability.

Would’ve liked to have seen USB-C use it instead of what it has because I’m sure I’m not the only one concerned by that stem looking all vulnerable as it does.

Still, way better than Micro USB! 🤦🏻‍♂️
