Participated in a Zoom discussion with author Walter Mosley last night. He said it was a dream working with AppleTV+. So much so that he hopes to have a series based on his Easy Rawlins mysteries very soon.
I believe it. Wouldn’t be surprised if these complaints are cherry picked, making a to-be-expected at this stage in the game situation seem like the sky is falling. There have been plenty of horror stories coming out of Netflix over the years, and while I personally think the jury is still out on if they’ll survive the streaming wars, productions still line up to work with them.

Well maybe a computer company should only go so far.... I mean lots of these new services came at the price of attention of other product lines such as the Mac!
You know, Apple is no longer Apple Computer Inc. since 2007. So it’s time to look forward.

Interesting. One of the technicians that worked on Severance said that it was total chaos, with wrong schedules and more importantly delayed paychecks; they often had to work without a paycheck.

Isnt there is an independent production company between Apple and the staffs?

People act like Tim Cook is signing every single paycheck.

There's loads of choice on the market. Simply choose a brand that meets your needs/requirements. It's not that hard!
True, but you were talking about happy customers and premium products worth the price. I’m not buying Apple because I’m happy with their products or because I believe they are premium and well worth the price. I’m buying them because for me they are the least bad of the limited choices available. In a market like that, you can’t infer high product satisfaction from the sales numbers.

Yeah.. Apple TV+ is the only service Apple offers that I have tried and then canceled my subscription quickly.
One of those "products" that doesn't know what is should be. A content hub? Subscription service intself? A hybrid?

But, TBH... the whole world of content streaming is getting just as annoying as the ol' broadcasters.
If you have 10 items you would like to see, I'm pretty sure you'll be needing to subscribe to at least 3 content providers to be able to view them.

I am subscribed to Netflix, and that's it for me.

"Happy house" by Siouxsie and The Banshees

Your last replies make me think of this song.
I don't know if you ever heard of this. All I know is that all of a sudden I can't keep it out my mind.
Oh, please be happy with everyone and join the chorus: every single Apple product is outstanding and if sometimes you have another impression, then you're probably wrong.

Really frustrating trying to Navigate ATV+-...
Hey, a new show, oh sorry its on Disney, oh sorry its on Paramount+, blah blah, why is it even in ATV+ if they cant show it! Also while watching a series, I'm 3 episodes in and get busy a few days, what show was I watching? No clue, that show is buried away like it forgot I was watching a series!...

It could be the case, although we won't know. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's true what is reported here, although it's probably not at breaking point. But I've enjoyed a few shows on the service. I may scrap it for the moment though whilst I wait for new series it shows I want to watch. I've found mostly what I've watched to be high quality, apart from the films which I find a bit flat.

Why aren't I surprised by this? Apple music and the podcast app has had glaring issues FOR YEARS and everyone is aware of them, but for some reason Apple is either unaware or unwilling to get around to fixing the issues. I love Apple, but Tim Cook's Apple when it comes to software is: "lets make it just good enough"

Honestly, I'd put a lot of this on the work-from-home mandates in the last two years. Quality of EVERYTHING has suffered thanks to the Laptop Generation working off their kitchen table. I would put a lot of money on companies in the next few years rapidly reversing hybrid work policies (i.e., 2 days at home, 3 days in office) to get everyone back under one corporate roof.

It's a huge, risky business but Apple has all the infrastructure in-house.

What's left is bringing in the right people at the right time.

If you look at Apple fitness, they have done a really good job at getting folks in to lead fitness routines. They can take the success of this and use it towards Apple TV+

Doesn’t mean the core products have to suffer and from what can be seen other services have hardly displaced or been run better than the mac or iPhone line.

Anything Eddy Cue touches stagnates or turns to sh*t. He was given Siri and it lost ground for years. He was given iCloud and it was underutilized. Apple Music hasn't evolved in meaningful ways. Clearly TV+ is the next one on his long list of accomplishments. It's just amazing for how long he keeps underperforming amidst a group of the world's most qualified and competent executives. When will the Apple board finally say enough is enough?
Yes, I wish they brought in someone new to lead services. Someone who prioritizes scalability. Services is by far the most lackluster part about Apple. Apple Maps, Arcade, TV, Siri all suck. Maps are abysmal outside US. Apple Music is the only legitimate service worth paying for.

Steve Jobs was actively trying to turn the iTunes Movie/TV Store into a subscription. He spent years negotiating this. Eddy Cue inevitably took over. It failed, and they pivoted to Apple+. The former is what people wanted. The latter is what we get under Eddy Cue and Tim Cook.
Sorry if I’ve missed any responses to this, but where is your evidence? This isn’t an attack, I’m curious.

Be as it may, I find Apple TV+ quality/quantity ratio to be probably the highest out there. They might have very few series and movies, but I find that 9 out of 10 are things I really enjoy watching. And I hope this ratio will keep steady.
