Asking for real, does Apple TV just have something relaxing and funny to watch (and maybe normal, not some crazy weird type of funny). I feel like all the shows have some sort of agenda. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or give me some suggestion.
What you're experiencing is a focused effort by one company to curate shows that they believe their customers will like. Netflix and Amazon Prime don't do that. They throw everything (Chinese productions, Hollywood productions, Independent productions, back catalogs, etc.) against the wall to see what viewers like. They then use all that data to sell products, subscriptions and offers back to viewers. Like HBO and Disney, Apple is offering a strong brand identity that you might interpret as an agenda.

I really wonder how much money is burning for this service.
Apple has $200 billion in cash. For years, customers, analysts and investors complained that they didn't spend enough cash. If Apple quadrupled their marketing budget, no one would question it. This is just marketing for their brand and their hardware. Netflix spends 10x more than Apple on content. How come no one wonders how much they spend?

God how pathetic do you have to be to get offended by a show you won’t even watch because it has a plot about helping people
Who was offended by the show?

But as others have said Apple is at danger of making their service niche with some of these products. Very little of their stuff has wide appeal. Greyhound was solid and Ted Lasso was amazing. See was meh. They seem like a great network if you live in CA or a big eastern city. But the whole world finds stuff on Disney, Amazon, and Netflix. On Netflix I can watch Russian murder detective shows, Brazillian sci-fi and French dystopians. Apple seems way too narrow.

They have way less content than the big players right now. But I think there’s pretty good variety considering the amount.

I can’t find one person talking about Apple TV or shows they love watching on Apple TV. If it were not for my time on MR, I wouldn’t be hearing about any of these shows at all.

Apple has no interest in the streaming game, they only did it to not lose market shares.
It’s a vanity project so Tim Crook can rub shoulders with the Hollywood elite at the Golden Globes and Oscars and push his own personal social agenda. It will never make any money for Apple.

where, exactly, are you looking for that one person?

Because there seem to be plenty all over the internet, talking about Ted Lasso, for example.

I am online every day. I’ve yet to hear anyone talk about Ted Lasso. I can’t comment if it’s good or bad because I have never seen it. It certainly isn’t on the tip of everyone’s tongue.

I assume the people that announced the awards for the Apple TV shows that won at the Critics Awards and Golden Globes talked about them.

The manager of the Seattle Mariners (my local team) was talking about how much he liked Ted Lasso - so there's one person.

I was actually kind of surprised when I read that...

Ok, Correction. So what “agenda” do you see in “See”, “Lasso”, “Defending Jacob”, “Dickinson”, ”Mythic Quest”, ”Dads”, “Central Park”, “Servant” ? Watching any program must be challenging for you, because those I listed apparently are so “Weird”. In general, doesn’t every show have really have to have an “agenda” to be effective - and endeavor to tell a story to the viewer? What would the point be of writing a story if not to engage the viewer in a perspective, whether to root for (or against) an anti-hero, or a hero, or to hope that some character could overcome adversity, or a personal challenge. Isn’t that what engaging stories do. As a writer, you ultimately have to have an “agenda” to effectively pull your reader (or viewer) along for the entire story. What content creator, for any medium, has the goal of NOT pulling the audience to make decisions or form opinions, about the subject or characters. Do you find my list heavy in concepts of equality? Diversity? Politics? I guess I really don‘t understand how you struggle to find “something” that is “relaxing and funny” on Apple TV. Not all of my list is “relaxing”, I would admit. But I don’t find the list to be bogged down in polarizing “agendas” either. Good luck in your quest, on any content provider, if you desire NO agenda.

We're all in bubbles so only Apple knows the numbers. Everyone I know thinks Ted Lasso, For All Mankind and Morning Show are among the best streaming shows out there. I don't know anyone talking about Netflix or Prime shows these days. It's all anecdotal.
This is quite interesting, didn’t think of it this way.

I’m more in the “everything is Netflix” social circle with a pinch of “everything is looking all the same there” too. Lately I gravitate towards Amazon often to watch the old Top Gear shows of all things... and totally feel like the only person in that bubble. No one around me knows about Amazon nor ATV shows.

I understand what you are saying, however do give some of the shows recommended by others a chance (ignore the somewhat seemingly harsh comebacks).
Even The Morning Show which has a controversial premise goes along quite well for the most part and the acting and storytelling is superb. The power struggles are quite hooking, for me at least.
Ted Lasso, Servant, Defending Jacob (loved this one), started Losing Alice which has been great two episodes in so far, etc
The movie Greyhound was totally worth it.
My .0002cents.

So is this the sequel to Lady in the Water directed by Apple TV+ director M. Night Shyamalan?
