I really wonder how much money Apple is burning for this service.
The last descriptive I would use is "burning." It's more like "how much money Apple is investing in this service."

Because make no mistake, this is a massive investment in Apple's Services future.

Further, Apple is putting out excellent content and I'm thrilled Apple is advancing great entertainment options into the streaming world.

I can’t find one person talking about Apple TV or shows they love watching on Apple TV. If it were not for my time on MR, I wouldn’t be hearing about any of these shows at all.

Apple has no interest in the streaming game, they only did it to not lose market shares.

I know a ton of people talking about Ted Lasso, Central Park, Terran, and the Servant.

While both our comments are anecdotal, there is absolutly quality there in the service. It's main hinderence keeping it from being "sticky" is no back catalouge of known IP. The need a Friends or an Office or something else established.

Man if that ain’t the truth

Apple makes terrific products. But this media venture has been a misstep to say the least
MR forum users aren't known for their business acumen, based on the general consensus on past Apple products and launches.

TV+ is the furthest thing from being a "misstep." TV+ is the next HBO, and that will draw revenue to Apple in a big way.

Asking for real, does Apple TV just have something relaxing and funny to watch (and maybe normal, not some crazy weird type of funny). I feel like all the shows have some sort of agenda. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or give me some suggestion.
Woof, maybe try watching a show instead of reading the blurbs and deciding there's some nefarious "agenda" being promoted.

This.
unlike the other newbie, Disney +, ATV+ didn’t have a huge catalog of classics to start with. The amount of content on ATV+ has grown impressively considering the pandemic, and although I’ve been neutral on a couple of offerings, I have yet to see something I would say is terrible.

Exactly! Especially compared with Peacock and Paramount+, Apple’s originals are miles better.

And Apple’s originals are in the same league as HBO Max and Netflix.

Apple doesn’t have any IP on the level of Disney+, but that’s one of the things I find refreshing about Apple TV+. It’s not retreads, reboots, or new installments in existing franchises. Nearly (sans some of the family shows and Amazing Stories) every series Apple has put out is original IP and is all about creating new quality series unlike what’s already in the market.

Definitely two great actresses - now could they please throw in some robots and spaceships to round up the story :).

This is quite interesting, didn’t think of it this way.

I’m more in the “everything is Netflix” social circle with a pinch of “everything is looking all the same there” too. Lately I gravitate towards Amazon often to watch the old Top Gear shows of all things... and totally feel like the only person in that bubble. No one around me knows about Amazon nor ATV shows.
There's no doubt that Apple TV+ is has the smallest marketshare and possibly mindshare due to Apple's hardware ecosystem. But that ecosystem also creates the halo affect which "locks" users in and creates loyalty that eventually overcomes the steep buy in price to recruit more friends and family.

Why are so many shows called Limited Series now? Is there something so wrong with miniseries?
They were called "Mini-series" when a season of a regular series was 23 episodes. Now that many regular series are 6-13 episodes, mini-series and series are the same length, but limited series are not ongoing. It is simply a more precise term.
