No idea why, but wait times for some content on Netflix is vastly shorter after the iOS update. Also most content used to pause after the first 5 seconds, then continue. Not any more.

For me the problem with netflix on Apple TV was a constant pausing as it adjusted quality due to internet bandwidth changes. My other devices did a better job of adjusting on the fly without stopping (for the most part but it did happen once in a while on the other devices too). I had given up on netflix on Apple TV for a while and used the PS3 for that but I like the Netflix menu on Apple TV better. It is more responsive and better organized. Upstairs I also have an xbox and I can't stand the interface for netflix on that. The entire console menu on xbox is a mess.

Anyway I played 3 shows after updating the Apple TV and the video stuttering has stopped. Not once was there a problem last night.

Xbox is a dead end. Apple is constantly evolving iOS.

And hey, how's that Red Ring of Death thing working out for you?

Dont be a dick mate. RROD was an issue with early 360s - the HDMI based ones have no problem at all. Better than the George Forman PS3 which has been rooted ad hacked to the point where Sony cant be arsed to continue development.

The 360 has at least one major update a year to its software, for free.

The last update brought loads of new video on demand services and such. Sky Player is a HUGE feature on the 360. In an upcoming update LoveFilm (uk's equiv. to netflix) and BBC iPlayer are likely being added, as well as VOD services for many major tv networks.

Tell me...how many updates did the last ATV get that had groundbreaking new features? Oh yeah, thats right...zero.

netflix improved?

Is it just me, or has the quality of Netflix streaming movies increased substantially with this upgrade?

I've noticed the same thing. I never had major problems like others, but there was usually a slight pause at the beginning and maybe one more time through watching a movie. Seems not to happen anymore.
