I agree Sling TV I cancelled right before my 7 day trial was up. I am using PSVue now which has no app for the ATV but it is not so great either as the DVR guide is utterly useless because programs can start up to 10 minutes late and end late. However the PQ does remain sharp unlike Vue but because of the bad DVR timers I am dropping it too. DirecTV streaming service can't come anytime sooner.
This is what it's all about, I can't wait for this to release.AT&T rep stated DirecTV streaming service is scheduled to come out in October
Shouldn't it be the other way around? wired is more reliable than wireless in general.Might work better if you had the Apple TV hooked up with wi-fi.

Why do you say Apple is dragging? I would think Sony is dragging their feet since they are the ones controlling where they deploy "their" App.Unfortunately Apple is dragging its feet with regards to vue service on the Apple tv.

The only problem I am aware of is "In App Purchase". You have to give Apple a cut (30% for Apps and I think 15% for streaming). If you do not allow "In App Purchase" then Apple does not get a cut. That is why most Apps on the iPhone/iPad do not allow in app purchase. Like Amazon Video/Prime. You can only watch what you have already purchased on the Web Site or of course Prime Videos. I think Amazon and maybe Sony want Apple to allow In App Purchase with no cut going to Apple. Maybe this is what they are talking about. Also, with Hulu and CBS All Access they charge MORE if you purchase via iOS or tvOS then they do if you purchase from their web site. I think Sony and Amazon just need to figure it out because I do not think Apple will drop their policy.Probably cause every time i talk to Sony they blame Apple lol. They point to the fact that Roku and Amazon both allow Vue on their platforms. And they imply it is Apple that is holding this up. Perhaps Apple has some kind of wink or nod to Sling tv for now that says they will only push Sling live tv for a certain period of time? With no live tv competitors till "X" future date. All i know is that i am disappointed that vue is not on Apple cause i prefer the UI and the whole experience in general from the Apple tv.

I would only consider VUE if they had an Apple TV App. Others I know feel the same. Somewhere I read they were definitely coming but I will believe it when I see it. The Cloud DVR will be a selling point if it works really well. Not sure about the 28 days.Hopefully something happens soon. Cause I get more bang for the buck with vue. As far the channel lineup for the price I pay. At least with Amazon you can airplay to the Apple TV. But with the vue service. They have that blocked. I would settle for airplaying vue to the Apple TV for now. It would be better than nothing.
How is the PQ? When I tried it was bad on the ATV and all devices. My PSVue sub ended and I won't renew it as the guide is broken so bad that the DVR feature is useless unless you want programs to start late, get cut off or even record the wrong program again late.
Just a update Sling TV is much more reliable then when I first tried it and programs start at the right time. Too bad there is no DVR.
