The day they announce "we didn't add any features, but we fixed all the bugs" in any OS I will be so happy 🥹Imagine the number of OS bugs could have been fixed with the money spent on this pointless rebranding.

For all mankind just kept getting better. So did “see”. So did slow horses and many others. Im just glad they don’t abandon shows like Netflix
I like 'Apple Stream'. Watching the Apple TV service on your Apple Stream box seems logical to me.I think the new box will be called:
Apple Theater
Apple HomeTheater
Apple tvPod
Apple HomePod TV
I was thinking the exact same thing! LOL. Next there will be flames and marketing material with 'The Hottest new thing'.View attachment 2567389
This cracks me up so much.
It's like their whole "design" team just discovered Photoshop filters for the first time.
Time really is a flat circle.
They need series that begin on a cliff from which to fall from.Apple TV needs less of a rebrand and more series that don’t fall off a cliff after the first season.
Not seeing any bugs in iOS 26 so farImagine the number of OS bugs could have been fixed with the money spent on this pointless rebranding.
Actually if you read it he said the money spent. So I guess your remark is the pointless one!Designers are no coders. (even if I do not like it). Sorry mate!! That is a pointless remark.
Its now being replaced by Apple Intelligence.wow that is bad Did Apple fire their entire design and Art department. Never seen anything official so awful and un-Apple.
Demoralizing why? Do you work in the industry?
it has to be a placeholder image. That is just too amateurish. Leaving it alone is far better. Its now being replaced by Apple Intelligence.
Just wait until they discover Kai's Power Tools!View attachment 2567389

Its also likely related to what they are looking to do with F1, and I know that there have been issues with MLS.I have a feeling this was in response to Apple's latest MLB broadcasting. There was genuine confusion from certain age demographics as to where they could watch the games. Just my guess.
And you, my friend, are in a small minority of users that notices or cares about such things. AppleTV is a niche device.I disagree. The Apple TV is one of the few streaming devices, including the built in smart tv interfaces, that doesn’t slow down and lag frequently. I’d rather set up my tv as a dumb tv and use an Apple TV than use manufacturer interfaces. This doesn’t even address the data with which your tv phones home (ever read the privacy policy of your smart tv?).
An Apple TV will have a place for a while to come I imagine.
Most people do not care about either of those things. I already said it is for people who care about Apple's interface etc. Most users simply do not; it is a very niche device. Most people use their TV's built in sound system. Adding a better sound system as part of AppleTV would make it far more appealing, because it is something most people would notice, and in combination with the interface benefits, might be enough for it to be mainstream. No, right now the aTV is for people who never want their smart tv to touch the internet, ever, and people who have a smart tv where the smarts suck (most of them).
And most people would prefer it not replace their sound system.
Great point, I fully agree! Its also likely related to what they are looking to do with F1, and I know that there have been issues with MLS.
The core problem is this just continues the confusion. At least before you could point to different names for items. Now its Apple TV Streaming service and Apple TV Streaming hardware, which is more confusing. It'd be better to name one of them something completely different to avoid the confusion entirely.
Which is kinda the point… it’s aimed at folks who dont want to use the “smart” features on their tv for one or more of a few reasons, and people deep in the apple ecosystem. And you, my friend, are in a small minority of users that notices or cares about such things. AppleTV is a niche device.

Maybe, but it would also lose much of their *current* market for the device, including the folks who are deep into Apple’s ecosystem overall. big risk, uncertain rewardMost people use their TV's built in sound system. Adding a better sound system as part of AppleTV would make it far more appealing, because it is something most people would notice, and in combination with the interface benefits, might be enough for it to be mainstream.
The question is does Apple actually want that? Jobs referred to the AppleTV as a “hobby”, it’s always seemed to me to be a higher end product with a set of particular niche targets, and that’s been the whole point of the product (relative to the general streaming device grouping). Not everything needs to cater to broader markets and doing so may risk losing its dedicated fan base that makes it successful at all and ruining the product line entirelyFor AppleTV to be a mainstream device,
I wouldn’t go that far, though I do agree about the power of global corporations.I can't tell if that's a serious suggestion but it's funny either way.
It wasn't just technology that cause the proliferation of piracy, it was seeing the western world go from largely being run by corporations to almost entirely - everything in sight bought up and squeezed for profit no matter what the cost to society. So maybe Apple's "content" is good enough to pay for but, being one of the largest corporations in the history of the world, they are part of the overall problem and, in my opinion, absolutely deserve to have their **** stolen at ever turn.
I wouldn’t go that far, though I do agree about the power of global corporations.
If no one pays for video/film/tv-programming—they will stop making media other than garbage ad-fuelled lowest-common-denominator ‘quality’ ‘content’ and probably consisting of only AI actors, writers, etc. I mean, they’re going to try and foist this on us anyway, but if no one is willing go pay, well, what can we expect? Certainly not a better situation.
Never, hopefully— it’s too iconic.when will iPhone be rebranded to Apple Phone?
Like the initial 'hello, bonjour' etc when you first update to Version 26. Frankly embarrassing. It’s just a total mess.
It’s got an inner shadow, so we are led to believe visually that the apple logo is below the black surface area, but then for some reason, the Apple logo itself is bubbly and sticking up.
I can’t even guess what the aesthetic they are going for actually is.
This is just absolute amateur hour design work.
Literally the kind of stuff teenagers in their basement come up with their first time through with Photoshop
How is it remotely alike? Try having a set top box by Netflix, called Netflix, which also has a Netflix app on it where you watch Netflix, amongst all the other streaming services - that's a more similar analogy and that is most definitely if not confusing, just very strange. How is that confusing? To me, it’s no more confusing than using the Netflix app to access the paid subscription to Netflix, or Apple Music app to access the paid subscription to Apple Music.
