Screw all of you. I want an October release, then I'll have some money and I can hype it more than ever, and get to wait in t3h line.

No, Screw you ;). Some of us have the money now and can't wait to get the iPhone. :D

Well, I want Apple to say that they're delaying the release until I'm back from my travels in June 2008. Then I can be in the queue!

:D

Well remember when they announced the Intel iMac at MWSF 06 i think it was? It was only available at the store nearest Moscone West on that day. It didn't appear anywhere else for a few days.

Regent Street is Apple's best flagship store for Europe. The iPhone will be there on the day. Definitely.e

Its a little different in the UK than in US though. For apple to ship a few hundred iPhones to all the Apple Stores in the UK could be done by one man in a ford transit van if he left at 9 in the morning, he'd have plenty of time to get to all the stores in the UK. Same couldn't be said for the US. There are only 10 stores in the UK. Maybe deliver all in one day was a bit of an exaggeration, but distribution will be a whole lot easier.

Unless they don't have enough for all the stores and will stock them after the most important and biggest Apple store in London? There's no reason for the store to close unless they're putting up displays and new products so we can be pretty sure the iPhone is being announced and will be available.

The UK iPhones may be tweaked models, 8 and 16Gb that aren't the same as the US ones so there may not be enough stock to go around.

So whats peoples views on the distribution of the iPhone?

Will it be available in just Apple stores? Or O2 Stores also? and what about Carphone Warehouse etc. ?

Also do you think stock levels will be adequate for the demmand? They seemed to be on the whole in America. I don't to relive the hassle of getting a Nintendo Wii....

If release is tomorrow, I would have thought apple store tomorrow, o2 stores next week. I doubt the retailers (carphone warehouse etc) will get it much like only ATTstores and AppleStores only get the USA. If its not released on tuesday, probs both o2 and Apple stores will get them at the same time, but thats assuming o2 is the provider. I hope both stores get them, because my nearest apple store is hours away, but the nearest o2 store is like 2 minutes away from me.

I guess by 'tomorrow' you mean Tuesday :p

Hmm luckily I'm fairly close to two Apple stores. I live 15min train ride from central London, so I can easily get to the Regent St. one, and I also live about 25min drive from Bluewater, where there is also a fairly big Apple store.

I don't know which one would be best to go to. They are both likely to attract a fair amount of people...

Edit: Also, I see you are in Wales, if its not released on Tuesday (which I suspect) then I shall most likely be in Cardiff for the actual release, because I'm going down to Uni next weekend. Where is the nearest Apple store? There isn't one in Cardiff.

Apple site says...

I don't know if it is of any interest to anyone but on the UK apple retail page for Regents Street it says: 'Due to a private event, the store will be closed on Tuesday September 18th until 4.00 pm. We apologise for any inconvenience.'

UNTIL 4.00PM ??!!

what could this mean I wonder. Training for staff maybe? or stocking? Or perhaps just packing away stuff from the 'private' event? Perhaps we'll never know...

Check for yourself: http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/regentstreet/week/20070916.html

by tomorrow i meant tuesday yes... im getting too excited. Im in wales, about half an hour from cardiff. Theres a premium reseller in cardiff, but no apple store. The nearest i suppose would be southampton, birmingham maybe?? I've never really given it much thought.

@joezapple: that was noted about 2 pages earlier if you want to go check it out.

There is an Apple reseller in Cardiff.

The nearest Apple Store is up the M5 to Birmingham!

Also, how soon will we know the details from the event?

eg. what page should I be manically bashing F5 all morning on ?

Can it be true? iPhone date for Canada!

Just came back from a Roger's store in Montréal and the staffperson told me that they had «top-secret» news that the iPhone would be available in Canada on Rogers in January 2008. I guess it wasn't that top secret, but I am not sure whether to believe him . . . .

Another Hard Evidence that Think Secret is wrong

I found another hard evidence that iPhone UK will come before November.

From 12/09 ~ 30/10 Apple UK has been offering Back-to School promotion i.e buy a Mac get a iPod Nano free. I just go through the terms and conditions of it and guess what, I found this:

3. For the purposes of the Promotion, to be entitled to the money-back rebate, the Qualifying Education Customer must
purchase the Qualifying Products simultaneously, with one purchase being a qualifying Mac Product and the other
purchase being a qualifying iPod Product, defined as follows:
Mac Product – any one of the following:
All Macintosh computers and the Configure-to-Order versions of these products are eligible, except for Mac mini, Apple TV and iPhone.
iPod Product – any one of the following:
All iPods and iPod nanos, excluding iPod shuffle.

If there is no iPhone until November in UK, then why hell they put it in the terms and conditions?

Probably just copied in a lazy fashion from the U.S. terms and conditions, but you never know.

Interesting...

I'm sticking by a 1st or mid October launch. But I'd love it to be Tuesday.

Nice one, thx ;)

I was hoping somebody would infiltrate the event 'Mission: Impossible' style. Or at the very least try to sneak a look before/whilst it's happening and report back here sharply!

:p

if only the store was 24hr like new york. we could all hide in the shop the night before, wait til morning and listen in! :D

I managed to blag it as a journalist. They're phoning me again on Monday with all the info. I'll take my MacBook and post on here as soon as I hear everything.

If someone wants to pay for me to get there, I'd give it a go. Theyd have to pay my bail if i was caught too. Security is probably gonna be tight. Im just glad i've got the day off work. The media events always seem to be on my day off. Its great. I remember MWSF07 I had booked that whole week off conveniently, I was off on June 29th, which made no difference to me but it was a coincidence. And I was off when the announced leopard back in WWDC06. Ive got a week off mid october... I can only hope something goods gonna happen then. Maybe 10.5 release, so i can go and buy a new mac.
